ILLEGAL MINING IN GHANA IS CALLED "GALAMSEY"

Warm greetings my beautiful family and friends, I trust everyone is doing well this evening. I used to visit places upon places about the registration of birth and deaths certificate but one major issue or concern most youths raise is that, brother we are graduate from renowned universities and polytechnics but there are no JOBS for us only the illegal mining or Galamsay. Some graduate with Higher National Diploma and Degrees only have the illegal mining as first choice when we come to job aspect. They continued saying, soldiers came to molest, maltreat then and other but the illegal mining is the only choice.
Galamsay is a bad practice going on in Ghana and Africa as a whole, placing the youths nowadays into untimely death but there is no job in Ghana now and we can't stop.
In Ghana, widespread poverty and a lack of alternative income-earning opportunities can drive illegal artisanal mining.
Some of the Galamsay effects, Illegal mining activities can lead to environmental degradation, including deforestation, soil erosion, and water pollution. These negative environmental impacts can deter tourists who seek pristine and sustainable destinations.
I think to curb illegal mining, the governments must ensure proper closure and security of all closed mines, employ the community youth and secondly, the Government must strengthen its enforcement mechanisms to deter illegal miners, and traditional leaders must discourage community members from engaging in illegal mining activities.
