LET THE LITTLE ONES COME TO ME!!

Children are but a gift !! Each one of us on this platform was a child or has children or would someday have children or a child as the case may be. Some are biological while some are adopted. Be it as it mayy be children always carry a striking innocence. You cant but just love them. Taking care of children at whatever level maay be one of the most difficult tasks one may be faced it.
HERE IS MY LITTLE EXPERIENCE
I was workig at St. Mark's Catholic Church Apir which also has a nursery and Primary school and also a secondary school. I stayed with the children during the week and working hours and even taught them in classes and on Sunday I would conduct a Bible service for them. I didnt just teach them how to read and write alone, I also taught them the word of God(verbum Domini).
This assignment was tasking and yet very interesting. Gatherig children from different eviroments and family background in the same class and hall on Sundays and also getting to control them to do the right thing was indeed a difficult task. Some would listen and were very obedient while some were basically or seemed only to obey upon threats of imploring a disciplinary measure. In all i loved them and i still miss them till today.
I noticed that character formaion of a prson begins as a child. Some children were hot tempered and would retaliate at any given opportunity. While others were quite reserved some were found at every corner of the hall. Some were very smart and could grap with ease what was taught while others really needed extra efforts before they could attempt to grasp what was taught. I also noticed it was more likely for me to fall in love with those who seemed smart and intelligent more than those who were struggling so i worked more on those who were struggling. Sometimes i would give them extra assignments and constantly engage them in activities that would improve their situation.

WE NEED TO TAKE CARE OF CHILDREN
During my time with the children some of the attitudes of the children i noticed ws springing from their families. I specifically spoted a child who was above average and very smart. It was a female child and her name was Ann. Ann was quite reserved and smart. She was very intelligent and in primary two Ann was already able to read; while other pupils were struggling with painting and identifying objects, Ann was way above that stage....Upon further research i discovered that Ann's mother would always close from work and gather her three children and help them with their home work herself. She would insist they all do it and guide. I admired Ann because of the way she composed herself. It was a clear indication that her parents were stopping at nothing to give her a good home training. From that moment i promised myself to always try my best to give my child the training they deserve.
Sometimes our children may not be exceptional but they certainly need our guidance and exceptional skills to bring out what is exceptional in them. You can be sure that every child on earth is gifted with a special talent. But sometimes we spend alot of our time "judging a fish by its ability to fly" A fish cannot fly it can only swim so if you take a fish out of the river and expect it to run or fly, that fish will definitely be judged as the worst creature.
Somtimes parents already have an idea of what they want their child to be, sometimes they even choose professions for their children and expect those children to follow suite wether they like it or not. Guide them but dont force them. Guide your child according to his ability and interest.
ALL WORK WITHOUT PLAY MAKES JACK A DULL BOY
Make it as part of your routine to take your child or the children in your custody to fun places or create an environment that will allow them have fun. They must not get old before they will have fun. Teach them how to balance work and leisure and fun.
It is said that you cant bend a dried tree you can only correct a tree when its young and fresh. Some habits in those children can only be noticed in a fun environment. Some children i noticed were always calm and collected and were almost seemingly lost in class but during leisure you would see them ontop of the games and would scream to the highest level

CAN WE TEACH OUR CHILDREN BLURT?
Two days ago, @r2cornell made a post about his great grandchild. You can imagine that that child grows up and some day gets to know that his great grandfather once posted his picture on Blurt! Will that child ever forget blurt in his life?
The internet does not forget so it is said. I am specifically happy that certain contents are not allowed here on Blurt. Maybe some of these questions are begging for answers ;
Is there a specific age for someone to sign up on blurt?
Are children allowed on blurt?
Is blurt only meant for adults?
I was trying to compose a post on Blurt and my little nice asked me "Uncle Polycarp, what are you doing on your phone , can i play game with it?" And i said i was composing a post on Blurt. And she ask " what is blurt?
I could only be amazed at her curiosity. Even though i know she couldnt understand what i was explaining i know she wont forget the name: "Blurt".
BLURT IS HERE TO STAY
I am sure the founder of blurt didnt create blurt to last for some years and then become history. Blurt must continue even when we are gone to meet oir ancestors and who are the people to make it possible? The children!

We obviously can't hide the internet from our children. We must teach them.
APPRECIATION
My heart goes out to all who contribute positively for the welfare of children. Some people are taking care of children they dont even know, some do so in the capacity of teachers and alot more.
Just like you dont forget your experiences as a child so are you creating and ever lasting heritage in the hearts of those children you are helping to build. Some are sponsoring children in different ways and supporting them please keet it up!!
