Heading out for a couple weeks so I rigged up a float valve so I could auto fill my res while i'm gone.
I had a faulty hose that caused some dramas with leaks but I swapped it out and life is good

So the idea is to just turn it on from a phone or it is on a timer?
When the float drops it opens up and lets water flow in until it rises and closes the valve. I have the fill bucket raises do it's gravity fed. So basically no intervention required except filling the fill bucket. It works well so far and I just topped that fill bucket yesterday
