Are edibles usually Indica or Sativa, and does strain matter for edibles?

This is very important question because mostly people will not know that there are the differences, or what they are.

Indica edibles will have more sedative effect, will couch-lock and knock you out. Sativa is by rule more uplifting, has more a cerebral effect and will boost your energy and mood.

But, there are cases that a person is experiencing drowsiness or sleepiness, but they are absolutely sure that they had Sativa - or vice versa. This was also one of the reasons why the people were hesitant to try edibles.

How this happened?

Well, there is a little issue here. It could be that the edible contained higher levels of the myrcene or linalool to be an actual Sativa.

This is a reason why strain is not exactly important in modern production, but what is the level of terpenes. And based on that it is decided what goes on the package.

Problem is that unlike the natural occurring landrace ( bush on the image), there are almost no 100% Indica or Sativa strains. Those are the hybrid plants or they are somehow tempered.

I know it sounds ridiculous, but yeah, it can happen that you end up with quite sedating plant that looks like something that will shoot you to the Moon. And when it doesn't it is sort of weird.

That is why the edibles can also be mass manufactured differently to avoid this ... inconvenience.

Edibles are dosed with the THC content in mind and in many cases the terpenes are added after the extraction.

This is good for the people who need the precise dosages, so for them knowing how much cannabinoids and terpenes they actually taking and to what effect is very important.

Simply looking at the plant, these fine values may not meet the eye.

Too much of something can cause either paranoia, anxiety, hallucinations or on the other end of the spectrum a person can end up with the unwanted prolong drowsiness.

It can be quite confusing this subject, I'm still learning all this, but my understanding cannabis was cannabis, until I found out about hemp, that's when I started digging and realizing there's a lot more to it.
As Hippocrates quoted Everything in excess is opposed to nature.
Even if it's good for you we are still not to take in excess, everything in nature has it's place.
A great post @aschatria

Yup, I know. Hemp is legal and CBD products are sold in my country, but cannabis and THC legalization yet has to pass.

This is where I get a bit confused, with hemp and CBD products, where it has everywhere you read that it has THC, to ship hemp and CDB products in some countries it's .2, and others .3 for legal limits of thc. I've also come someone saying hemp and CBD products don't produce any thc, that there has been research, which I was unable to find any research backing this.

But in some countries like your own Hemp is legal, CBD products are sold, but the THC legalization is yet to pass, so does that mean there is no THC in them, or it's low enough to get though?

The hemp tea I bought the last has <0.2% THC , I think that is a low percentage they are looking for.

America is 0.3%, Europe is 0.2% for THC if I remember rightly.
Is the THC law thats being worked on is that more for the higher Cannabis THC levels?

Not higher levels, but complete legalization. In that case we get labels and quality, in this case you get who knows what and inexperienced people end up smoking some weird shit like dried shrooms soaked in gasoline lol

One thing about edibles is the cannabis needs to be heated up in order for it to be psycoactive when consumed. SO this process usually melts away the terpenes which are what make a strain have an indica or sativa effect. So great question. I do know flavoniods can still be intact, but are they the same?
