Yesterday I analyzed global traffic statistics for five of the best performing HIVE front ends. @dbuzz was the unexpected star along with @ecency mobile/desktop/web app. @leofinance was doing quite well getting very close to becoming a Top 50K website (which I think we will see before the end of the year). You can read the full statistics to have some deeper insights.
In the article I replied to @d-zero that I will post statistics on STEEM and BLURT blockchain front ends. Now that update is here.
Let's Start With BLURT
I like BLURT. I have been having a great time on the chain. It is also good to see the different approaches they have been taking. I'm not sure they will be the best methods for mass onboarding. Adding tiny transaction fees has helped curb spam. On the other hand kit has turned off many people. At the end of the day BLURT is a truly decentralized project that is providing a much better alternative to the likes of Medium.com
What A Surprise!
I only started looking into statistics after writing the introduction for the article. I am extra impressed with what I came to see. There are 3 main front ends that I am aware of. Two of them turned out to be incredible considering most users on STEEM/HIVE doesn't pay much attention to the more unique for that is BLURT.
This again brings us back to the appreciation of different methods and approaches instead of a one size fits all solution. Choice can make the world a wonderful place. Now let's get started!
Blurt Blog
These number will look even more impressive when you compare them with the part 1 of this analysis series. These are the best performers in engagement categories:
- Page Views Per Visitor - 8.4 Peakd (Honorable Mention: 7.0 DBuzz)
- Daily Time on Site - 13.34 DBuzz (Honorable Mention: 13.19 LeoFinance)
- Bounce Rate - 12.4 DBuzz
Blurt Blog has been an incredible underdog story that flew under most people's radar. By the way, did you notice this:
Alexa Top 200 Achieved
Just think about how incredible that is. I don't know how this was achieved. It was hard to break into Top 1000 Alexa Ranks in Venezuela. On top of having much unique geographical fingerprint in terms of audience, Blurt World has been killing it in Paraguay. It's a country with 7,292,672 population with many Spanish speakers.
Blurt World
Blurt World has a much better overall Alexa Rank compared to Blurt Blog. The audience fingerprint is also much different from Blurt Blog. It's almost like a different website. Attention from South Korea has been great. Let's not forget that;
- Daily time on site is higher than any HIVE front end
- Page views per visitor is only seconded by DBuzz (and Blurt Blog)
- Only @dbuzz and @leofinance has lower bounce rate than Blurt World
- Growth of the website has been a little all over the place in last 90 days
I don't think most people had any clue that the statsitics will turn out to be like this. I'm happy to have discovered this and have them presented to you because you probably own some BLURT if you were on STEEM before the snapshot was taken. You really shouldn't be selling your BLURT!
Blurtter
This is the more boring front end and it is still interesting. The growth has unfortunately flattened after a falling few ranks. Engamenet statistics have worsened. Yet the site compares well against @peakd and may other HIVE front ends.
- Only @dbuzz and @leofinance can boast higher daily time on site
- @peakd and @dbuzz have higher page views per visitor and Blurtter ties with @leofinance for page views per visitor
None of This Would Exist If It Wasn't For The Fork
Hard Forks can bring up incredible opportunities for experimentation and innovation. BLURT is pursing to be something much different from HIVE/STEEM while using much of the same technology. So far they have proven to be quite capable for achieving that. From now on it is a matter of sustaining and maintaining this growth.
Don't shut yourself from exploration and see what you can learn from each front end and each project. We decentralized blockchain projects are all in this together. HODL your BLURT and do your own research.
Blurt will be the #1 Crypto blogging platform in a few weeks. #blurt $blurt #blurtlove
BLURT needs some use cases like ability to promote posts by paying BLURT. I would also like to see the ability to pay for things like Splinterlands purchases with BLURT. The authors are here. The technology is here. We need to keep growing the audience and find more uses to create demand for BLURT.
Yeah if I had a few million Blurt I would offer this Service. ... blurtpromote.... Pay 100 Blurt for a 200 Blurt upvote. .... pay 200 Blurt for a 400 Blurt upvote.
If no dev still has taken over this task, I hope I can help you out with it. I believe there are already existing open-source bid-bot services.
Awesome. I would use this Service.... and I know hundreds of minnows who would also.
It's good to hear more devs are considering this. Thank you!
With 50/50 curation.this will be kind of perfect solution to be honest. I hope it gets picked up.
Other front-ends I'm aware of are:
https://blurt.buzz/ and
https://blurtworld.com/
Thanks for reminding me about https://blurt.buzz
Hey bud, After reading your Blurt articles, I just thought to give it a try again.
That is great to here. All your posts have been deleted from BLURT. You can find you best old posts and start posting them back on BLURT. It's a great way to build the initial audience. I also cross post my articles from HIVE.
yo!
Blurt to the Moon .... very soon. #blurtlove
Altcoin boom is at the door. But I plan to HODL for at least a few years.
Me too. Especially Blurt, Steem and TRX
