Here is my participation in @qurator 's Photo Quest / Suspend time Photography.
I thought a lot about this theme, about the suspension of time and the first thing that came to my mind, are these last two years spent closed at home due to the pandemic as if life in some way had stopped because I was forced to turn off inside the houses as if time were suspended even if it is not.
I imagine the kids bored in their rooms but also like me, used to long walks and trips out of town, found himself blocked as if it were a suspension of time.
But then, browsing through my photos, this one happened to me, my little seven-year-old granddaughter helping my ninety-two-year-old grandmother and what better image to tell about the suspension of time.
Two different generations, perhaps opposites certainly distant in one gesture, blowing out the candles for grandmother's birthday.
The grandmother who lived through the war, that her stories are as clear and limpid as it was yesterday, her great strength is still living day by day, together with my granddaughter who still has a life ahead of her who still lives happily with her dolls and her lightness even if unfortunately she too is experiencing tired this period.
In this photo, time stops joining two generations, joining a difficult past to a complicated future for different reasons, for different situations but here time stops and everyone eats the cake :).

Ecco la mia partecipazione a @qurator 's Photo Quest / Suspend time Photography.
Ho pensato molto a questo tema, alla sospensione del tempo e la prima cosa che mi è venuta in mente sono questi ultimi due anni passati chiusi in casa per via della pandemia, come se la vita in in un qualche modo si fosse fermata perchè costretti a spegnerci dentro le casecome se il tempo fosse sospeso anche se non è così.
Immagino i ragazzini annoiati nelle loro camere ma anche come me, abituato a lunghe passeggiate a gite fuori porta, si è ritrovato bloccato come se fosse appunto una sospensione del tempo.
Ma poi sfogliando le mie foto mi è capitata questa, la mia piccola Nipotina di sette anni che aiuta la mia nonna di novantadue anni e quale immagine migliore per raccontare la sospensione del tempo.
Due generazioni diverse, forse opposte sicuramente distanti in un gesto, lo spegnere le candeline per il compleanno della nonna.
La nonna che ha vissuto la guerra, che i suoi racconti sono chiari e limpidi come fosse ieri, la sua grande forza nel vivere ancora giorno per giorno, insieme a mia nipote che ha ancora una vita davanti che ancora vive felice con le sue bambole e la sua leggerezza anche se purtroppo sta vivendo stanca anche lei questo periodo.
In questa foto il tempo si ferma unisce due generazioni, unisce un passato difficile a un futuro complicato per motivi diversi, per situazioni diverse ma qui il tempo si ferma e tutti a mangiare la torta :).
