How Large Should my BLURT rewards grow before I Claim Them?

The term "compound" refers the forming of things from different parts. In finance, the term "compound interest" refers to receiving interest on interest.

In the STEEM family of sites, users compound their rewards on claiming their rewards.

I like to claim my rewards on HIVE before a curation session. Claiming the rewards increases the value of my upvote.

BLURT wisely charges a fee for every transaction on the blockchain.

The system charged 0.089 the last time I claimed a reward.

The fee alters the compounding formula as one must subtract the fee from the reward before compounding.

Imagine that my rewards were 0.05 BLURT. I would lose 0.039 BLURT if I claimed the 0.05 reward.

If I let the reward grow too large, I would miss out on the compounded interest.

So, my question is: What is the sweet point for claiming rewards?

I happen to have 7936 BLURT POWER. I receive about 0.160 BLURT for each upvote.

I tried to create a formula to figure out how long I should wait before collecting rewards. Since compounding involves some funky exponents, I wasn't able to wrap my head around it.

I decided to run an simulation with a spreadsheet.

It appears that I should let my rewards ride for 21 upvotes and claim the rewards when the value hits 3 BLURT.

I ran different figures. The sweet spot changes with different BLURT POWER.

I thought about creating a web page that allowed people to experiment with different values, but I decided to write a post with the question before making the page.

My Answer Was 3 BLURT

The answer for my account was three BLURT. Of course, I could have made an error in my spreadsheet.

The Picture Came from Night Cafe

I created the picture above with Nightcafe. The crazy scales in the picture don't make sense. But the answer to this simple question seems perplexing.
