Time to Blurt!...Comedy Movies! A Blast From the Past!

With all that's going on in the world these days, you must remember to never stop laughing! I'm always joking around and having a good time with @junglegirl. We both come from different cultures but our values and silliness are perfectly in line!

That being said, I always enjoy sharing my American pop culture with her....well, at least the parts that I enjoy. Like some classic comedy movies from the 90s and 2000s.

Here we have Austin Powers played by Mike Myers who got his start and fame from the hit American TV show Saturday Night Live. This show was huge and very much woven into American pop culture back before the internet...if you're old enough to remember those times.

Mike Myers is a real talent. The American people loved his James Bond 007 spoof comedy called "Austin Powers". It was such a hit, they ended up making a second and third one too. The first one came out in 1997.

Sure some of the jokes and the comedy in general is a bit dated. But @junglegirl and I really enjoyed watching all three earlier this years, as the silliness and goofy characters still offer plenty of laughs.

It's been a while since I've seen any new comedy movies that I've really enjoyed. I feel like there is a sensitivity issue, where people can not make fun of each other anymore. It seems like political correctness has really been a drain on the entertainment industry in general.

So let me ask....What comedy movie first comes to mind that you really enjoyed recently or a long time ago? Frankly, I'm looking for more fun movies to watch with my girlfriend and I could use a recommendation. Let us know in the comments and you will certainly be rewarded with some Travel Pro Up-Votes!

THANK YOU

I've been smiling lately with Adam Sandler's movies. It's different from past comedians, but I love the body language, the sense of humor and the way it reflects.

I love the early Adam Sandler Moviers from the 90s then later not so much, but maybe his most recent stuff I will really enjoy. Thank you so much for taking the time!

Yeah, MediKatie and I watched Austin Powers again recently, and remarked how a lot of the humour would be cancelled today. In fact, how long before Austin Powers actually DOES get cancelled by the woke mob? After all, he's white, male, and straight... things that are becoming very taboo and "toxic" lately!
From about the same timeframe, Ace Ventura Pet Detective had be howling. I really liked the 90s comedy of Adam Sandler and Jim Carrey. The 90s had some decent films, but not much good has come out in the past 20 years. The Matrix and Fight Club were 1999. Several good comedies in the 90s too.

Haha! Love that name MediKatie! For some reason, that ticked my funny bone this morning. I always thought that was a cool name. Yes, I hear you loud and clear. I'm just happy I was able to grow up in the US in 80s and 90s before the woke mob started in with their decisive woke BS. I remember a time, where gay, straight, black, white, latino, asian, democrat, republican, you name it....nobody seemed to give a shit and everyone seemed to get a long....at least way more than today. I remember before all this bullshit, we would leave the doors unlocked to the house and not even think twice about it. Most people did. Now you've got think twice before uttering there words he or she. Great time to be a comedian! lol (sarcasm implied) They've got the whole world walking on eggshells in fear of offending someone now. Exactly what they want. Divide and conquer.

So yes, that is partially what this post is about. Shining a light on the woke nonsense ruining movies and seeing if others feel the same way. I think the 90s and early 2000s produced some the best movies, as the wokism was still in it's infancy while the technology was good enough to produce films like the Matrix and so on.

Glad to see we have the same taste. Yes, Jim Carrey! Ace Ventura Pet Detective! That's a classic. I'm sure Jungle Girl will get a kick out of that one. She loved dumb and dumber. Thanks for the recommendations! :)

Wasn't really into "Austin Powers" I do enjoy the sense of humor in the Adam Sandler's comedy movies but as @bisolami1 "The man from Toronto" is a must watch you will get a good laugh I enjoyed that action comedy movie the other one I liked was the "The Takedown" it's a French buddy cop action comedy if you like Lethal Weapon and the Rush Hour movies this is in the similar spirit.

Awesome my Hangin' brother! Yes, a lot of people either really got a kick out of the Austin Powers movies, or were totally turned off. I heard that the American audience like it a lot, where internationally the movie did not do well.

Thank you so much for recommendations. I'll certainly look these movies up and give them a go!
