It's been an incredible past few weeks for @junglegirl and I. We left on my new PCX Motorbike appropriately named "The Red Hare". I bought her at the peak of the Cyrpto bubble back around November of last year. ;)
Paid in full, she's been a great investment. She runs perfectly and gets about 130 miles per gallon (about 50 kpl). It's cost next to nothing to travel the whole country. Since buying her on the island of Koh Phangan, we started heading south in January. That's right, The Red Hare is a she; and she's a gooooood girl! lol
I actually got the bike slightly used, a Russian guy bought it brand new for his wife who never used it. So I bought it from them at a nice discount with only about 1,000 kilometers on it. Almost a year later the bike now has 14,000KL.
Even though I have not traveled internationally since Covid in March of 2020, this past year I've been able to enjoy just about every place you may be interested to see here in Thailand with my @junglegirl.... Compliments of the Red Hare!
We stayed in the beautiful Island of Koh Lanta for over a month, then Ao Nang for a month with some of the most incredible beaches in the world on neighboring Riley Peninsula. Then a couple months at the popular sea side beach town of Hua Hin where we enjoyed a Kenny G Concert from our condo window.
From there we spent a solid month on the road as we worked our way up through the historic parks in the Sukothai, central part of the country. We skipped Bangkok. Just didn't want to deal with the traffic and the big city on a motor bike.
From there, we headed west to the Myanmar Border. Then north into Thai Hill Tribe country, where Jungle Girl is from. Meeting here family and spending some time in the tribe was an amazing and eye opening experience.
After saying good bye, we headed further north to the tourist town of Pai in a valley in the mountains. Then we stayed in Thailand's second largest city, Chiang Mai for a couple months months. During this time we attended Jungle Girl's best friend's wedding.
Three Weeks Ago....
We left Chiang Mai in the far north west of Thailand with our final destination for the winter being Koh Chang Island in the far east near the Cambodian border. We just arrived in Koh Chang a couple days ago after a crazy and adventurous three weeks and 2,000 kilometers through the far less traveled parts of Thailand.
The highlights were motorbiking along the Mekong River through the South East Asian Jungle. This river also doubled as a Thai Lao border for hundreds of kilometers. What made it extra exciting was the constant threat of rain and occasional downpour as Typhoon Noru was wreaking havoc on the Philippines and Vietnam Coast to our east.
We had no intention of staying anywhere for months at a time, like we did in the south, in beautiful Koh Lanta Island and Ao Nang Krabi. This was a sheer tour of this part of the country, E-san. We had in mind no more than a month, and it took about three weeks.
Frankly there is a reason nobody comes to this part of the country. When compared to the islands it's incredibly unattractive with not much to do. Chiang Khan was a cute little tourist town on the Mae Kong River/Lao Border. It was slowly recovering from economic devastation from you know what.
E-san is known to be the poorer part of the country and that became more obvious as our trip continued. The small border city in the north called Nong Khai used to be a busy place, reliant on tourism and border crossing activity to keep it's economy going. Three years after covid, it's probably the most run down depressing city I've seen in all of Thailand, but it still had a few interesting sights to see.
Then to the south there was the best of E-san, the city of Udon Thani. It was like taking a clear jump from the third world to the second world. Nice clean sidewalks, busy streets, busy markets, and one of the biggest and nicest shopping malls I've seen in the entire country. Lively night life and more....Definitely the place to be in this part of the country.
The city of Khon Kaen is the first time I actually felt maybe a little unsafe anywhere in Thailand. It looked like a rough, poor, sketchy, large, third world city with horrible traffic, pollution, traffic lights that didn't work and potholes that could land you in the hospital if not avoided..... But they had some great all you can eat buffets and some really cool weed shops! So we enjoyed!
The city of Roi Et was small, relaxed, and had a pleasant vibe. Not too dumpy either. Same could be said about Buri Ram except a bit bigger and more lively.
Three Days Ago
Our final destination of Koh Chang was finally in reach; just 300 kilometers a way from Buri Ram. This would be a solid 8-10 hours on the bike on not the best roads...a whole lot in one day plus a ferry ride onto the island. Then a late night hotel search. So we planned to break the 300kl into two days and get a hotel.
Well, we were so excited to get to our final destination that after about five hours on the bike and parked in front of a hotel, we decided to just keep going three more hours and try to catch the last ferry onto the island that left at 7pm. I'm happy to say we made it safely to the pier at about a quarter to seven.
Once on the island we spent some time looking for a cheap room and crashed for the night. The next day we spent the morning finding the place we are at now and checking out the island a bit. Now I'm catching up all things blurt, and it looks like this....
I miss my Blurt
That means I miss you! I miss being on Blurt for hours of entertainment, interaction, all while earning some crypto and being part of a growing project that can really make a difference financially in all our lives. I think that is really cool, and it's far safer being on Blurt a few hours a day than on a motor bike in Thailand. ;)
It's nice to be once again pool side on an exotic island spending some quality time on Blurt! I've done all I could to keep up during my travels with the witness discord and my own blog. I ended up commenting, curating, and re-blurting a lot from my phone.
I really enjoyed Re-blurting other people's stuff, and it really gave me a deeper appreciation for the blurt community and the effort people are making here from all around the world. So I'd like to devote much of the rest of this post to my fellow Blurters who I really think are making a difference here.

My brother from another mother who followed me over from Hive back earlier this year. He's now a top witness, and he's done it with no help from @megadrive or @ctime or @mariuszkarowski; some of the largest whales on the platform. He's done it entirely from the bulk of the Blurt community and that is an achievement in it's own right and I couldn't be more proud of him. This guy has come out of nowhere and the more I follow him the more I like him. Getting a back stage pass to the discord witness chat I've seen him at work offering up all sorts of free consultation, great ideas, and making great points which have helped educate the rest of us witnesses while keeping Blurt in a goal oriented and professional state of forward looking momentum.
It's easy to see why he is so valuable and has popped firmly into the top twenty. He has real life experience in the tech field, which means he's educated, professional, communicates well, and works well with others. He's a real guy, with real photos on his blog. He is a highly skilled simple family man out of Thailand; and in my opinion Blurt needs to keep guys like him in a valued and high standing.

I'm happy to see the Polish community vote @khrom into the top twenty. He is a great communicator and offers an excellent avenue for his supporters to gain influence and steer the Blurt ship in a direction they see best.
I'm hoping that @khrom joins us in the witness chat some time soon. I like many of his ideas and he's simply another great guy that is easy to work with from what I have seen. I'd suggest voting for @khrom if he loses support from his mega whales, as for now he's locked into top twenty.

Just Hangin!
My old buddy from years ago on Steemit, found me on Blurt earlier this year, and called me on the phone to have an hour conversation about the platform. Well, he joined basically the very next day and has been an active participant and small investor ever since.
@hangin's main contribution to the platform has been in the form of content creation focusing on Thailand, his travels/photography and daily life. He does an amazing job and takes amazing photographs. For his consistency and quality he very much deserves to be rewarded. The other day he posted something that I really liked and would love to see more of all over the platform.

OFF GRID LIFE
For a guy that posts ten times a day, on Blurt and just about every other crytpto earning platform and a user of the controversial UPVU; I've grown to really like the guy. After some time I've come to respect and accept his ways of doing things.
What I like most of all is that he does things his own way, he is his own mini whale, he does not care what others think of him, and he does not get wrapped up in drama. I've had some excellent conversations with Off Grid recently and he is A-Okay in my book.
Maybe he could do a very detailed series on how to make as much crypto as possible blogging online, with an underlining message to sell all the other crypto and buy Blurt! ;) For those unsure about @offgridlife I think it's time to give him another look.

Top Witness Saboin!
In recent days it's become very clear to me why @saboin is the number one witness. It's because he knows how to increase the time out setting on the proxy in correlation with the network buffer and the caddy. When necessary he'll check RPCs and APIs and scan the logs for errors....and that's just for starters!
There is so much that goes into running this blockchain that most of us will never know about or understand....yet @saboin not only understands it, he can fix and build on it; and lets not forget he finds time for this ontop of his full time job. Well done @saboin and thank you!

Blurt Core and Mega Drive!
@megadrive and company have done a great job lately side stepping drama while helping foster a positive vibe that is more attractive for investors. The price is now up nearly 100% from it's recent lows, and it looks like it could be going much higher.
Furthermore, I'm totally impressed with how receptive @megadrive is to new ideas and new information as it comes in. A family man, with wife and kids and multiple business ventures going on at once, I certainly commend him on how he finds time to manage it all along with Blurt.
Furthermore, @megadrive has been super easy to work and communicate with. In fact we are collaborating on something right now that will be a great addition to the platform. Also there are promotion programs that are being discussed and will soon be rolled out. You can expect some announcements coming soon.

Conclusion
Blurt is going in the right direction. There is a more diverse group of witnesses than ever including a new power house technical person, @nalexadre. Drama is at a recent low and the price is at recent highs. I do believe there is a correlation.
The vibe is right, and it's only going to get better as new growth orientated projects roll out while upgrades are gradually made. Energy is being redirected from distractions into getting things done and communicating effectively.
Final note....I Miss my Blurt!
I'm happy to be settling down on this island for the winter and be safely off the motor bike; and I'm happy to have some more time to BLURT!

Yeah, the idea of the word is great, although phonetically it sounds a bit like spurt, or something else not very professional, so I can understand why some people wish it was something else. Also, the official logo is pretty angry and negative, makes people think this place is full of drama. Maybe that will get sorted out at some point, they asked for suggestions quite a while back.

There's a plate of french fries in that middle of that table of thai food. I've never found anything with potato in it at a Thai restaurant. Do they do it for the tourists? Potatoes do go good in curry...Lots of nice pictures here for those who like to travel vicariously, thanks.
Western food, especially french fries seems to have crept it's way into every corner of the globe and it's so simple, cheap, easy, and popular, they throw this item onto many Thai menus. Thanks for taking the time and glad you enjoyed the post!

I can tell you this , there should be a new large curation account in circulation, and it won't be run by bots it's gonna be run by me! hahaha and a couple friends here. So I'm sure you' won't see wierd 1.29% votes from me.
I've just learned that increased activity on Blurt kind of crashed or messed up the ability to load images. So that is actually a good thing and the issue is close to be fixed by some of our very talented devs spearheaded by saboin and tekraze. So, hopfully you stick with Blurt and just give it some time. I just checked you blog, and I do see what you mean.

Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Philippines are definitely exciting places and can be excellent travel destinations for budget travellers. Thank Wil! Yes, I think we did about 12,000 kilometers this year total. It's amazing, these motorbikes just sip gasoline. I'm happy you followed these people and are getting to know the platform at bit better. I'm also glad that you're going to have a bit more free time. That was my problem while racking up so many hours on the road last month. Also, that place in the photo really was cool. A Buddhist and Hindu Statue Park near the Lao Border.

The beautiful soft sand ,the fantastic food and and....I love Thailand.
The first time I was there 31 years ago.
Even today I remember that it was possible for me to sit on the beach all alone for a few hours without being accosted.
That was unimaginable in Europe at that time.
Of course, many things have become more modern, but mass tourism has also destroyed many things.
I would love to go to Thailand again, but at the same time I am also "afraid" of the frustration that one feels when once beautiful places have been ruined.
However, this is also true for many other countries.
It's best to keep the places that were so dreamlike in your memory and not go there again....
