There are words that I always kept in my mind when I was young. I grew up with a very hard life, like every meal should always be budgeted well or else someone's stomach would not be filled. It was so sad at the time so the words, "You will never be hungry as long as you work hard" have been in my mind.
Though our life status was not the same as before. I'm proud to say that I worked hard for it but not bragging about it. So when I visited the next small village not far from where I am currently living. I saw this small vegetable farm owned by many people. From what I understand it's owned by an organization composed of locals in the small village.
They didn't have too many vegetables here; eggplant, cucumber, beans, bitter gourd and lady's fingers. They put fertilizer into their plants but the organic ones. I'm not sure what it was, I forgot to remember its name, either a waste of chicken or another type of animal. Even so, the plants were growing well and even you could tell just by seeing them through the images.
I was in my elementary days when we had a small vegetable farm or you could call it a garden. We didn't have land to grow plants but we found a way to have one when we asked landowners permission to plant plants there. There were some who refused but there were the good-hearted people that allowed us to use their land. It was very helpful to us because we didn't just have food to eat paired with the main food, the rice. We had the chance to earn money from it to use it for different uses.
Nothing, it just feels nostalgic seeing the way how we used to be when our whole families were complete. Father was still alive and strong and my big brother was very cheerful despite the poverty in life. Just a little bit dramatic but it's just nice to remember the past where the happy memories could be found.
So, yeah, we decided to buy from farmers because it was cheaper. Not only that, we were sure that the vegetables were newly harvested. We always wanted fresh food so to have that, we should be the ones to see being harvested or being caught in other matters.
Also, I've been telling you how beneficial it is to have a garden, whether it's a small or a big one. It's just about how someone can have a good feeling through it. So aside from having food and money, mentality can be healed as well.
