Quite a busy weekend, a hectic one to say the least,
I will still take time to look out for the little white babies, sure they need attention all time.
Not a big one today at the poultry pen but a very 'must-do' situation, a thorough cleaning and re-arranging the pen.
- At day 28, exactly 4 weeks today, this is the most critical moment of the broiler birds, they will have their last vaccine tomorrow, the rest will only be normal antibiotics to treat any infections that may come up or the use of local means, like the herbs and all..
This period is when the farmer begings to permutate how much profits he could realise and of course nobody wants to record any mortality now.
So far, i have no death recorded yet, I don't pray for that anyways.
So today, i started off with the routine cleaning of the pen plus cleaning all the feeders, drinker and taking time to inspect the feed to remove all weevils and dirt before serving the birds
After soap washing the drinker i took time to sun dry, i have to avoid all forms of contaminations.
The feeder all cleaned.
Lastly, i checked and hand picked all forms of dirts from the feed.
These feeds might have been sealed from the factory, but that doesn't make it 💯% safe for consumption because, we'all don't know where it has been stored before getting here.
- Like i said earlier this is not the time to assume, everything one is doing for these birds, it has to be thoroughly checked to avoid casualties.
All these were done in space of 2 hours, then a clean water and Feed were served to the chicken afterwards.
