Oh so in the USA if you earn under £1250 a month you don’t pay tax? I didn’t know this. Even if you have savings / a house? Just intrigued.

London I feel is almost identical to New York :) we are just a bit more sarcastic and dark humour lol is that where you are based?

I live in northern New York State, on Lake Ontario. In my brief experience, London is friendlier, cleaner (by far), and a 100x more toilet accessible than NYC. And public transit was superb and never stunk like open bladder:(
Yes, federal taxes are based on annual income. Local taxes (city, county, school) are based on property ownership. Personal and retirement savings are usually not touched by federal tax. A single person who earns less than $15,000/year, will not have to pay taxes. So in this project, I account for every expense to see if I am able to keep my income at poverty level. So far, so good. If I am able to convince my wife, and she’s willing to take up the torch, then we can go live in a cabin in the woods:)
Thank you!
