Blurt Community

There have been many things that have happened over the last week that I have definitely not been a fan of and like a number of us definitely spoke up about it but there is a positive that has remained in all of this. We still have the ability to talk about this and debate it out and get our voice heard without being greyed out or any support on our posts removed. Sometimes the community has to remember it's power and it's voice can have an effect.

Yes a lot of us didn't agree with account freezing or lucylin going on the coal list but the positive remains that we were allowed a voice, we used it and we changed things. That to me is still infinitely better than the place that shall not be named where if you have one negative thing to say you are nuked into oblivion along with anyone who might want to stand up for you or agree with you. Lets be thankful that yes, there are things we don't like, a few things the last few weeks but we have made a change and we have been able to use our voice as a community to get things changed.

The community here and it's willingness to stand up and defend what it feels is right, defend people and maintain the values of free speech is really special. No one here is too afraid of being turned on that they won't defend what they see to be wrong and that is something pretty special. There are no people cowering in fear here there is good healthy argument and debate, sure it gets a bit hairy at time but hey sometimes thats life.

I think people took megadrive's comments as "decrees" when they were only suggestions and nothing can happen without the agreement of the witnesses. In other words people were assuming this place is more centralised than it is!

For your next witness interview, you might want to ask about the ability of the witnesses to nix things. How many need to say No, what is the process etc.

lol not sure any will want to interview with me anymore :X but yes from what I have read it seems this might be the case, I guess as someone not that technical I take it at face value if a cofounder says he is going to freeze accounts and wallets, but listening to other people it doesn't seem he actually has the power to do these things. Maybe someone can clarify this for sure.

Let's say that the heat of the moment led to the use of the term freeze, something that could lead to multiple interpretations. This was clarified many times by rycharde in some of his comments. The important thing at this point is to wait for the actions of those involved in this whole storm.

I think MD just needs to be less of a loose canon, a few comments like that over the last few months have literally slashed the price of the token, sure it got taken back later but it just makes it look even more silly then that the threats come then go. It makes blurt look like a joke imo. I think on such big things it would be better to not make any emotionally charged irrational statuses and to come up with something formal as a group, maybe even put some suggestions to the community etc. So everything like that put out is really well thought through and an agreement reached or maybe MD could just clarify at the top of the post when it's his opinion vs an action on behalf of the foundation. I don't think ppl like crime and MMMKK could wait when they were being told if they didn't start immediate power down their wallets would be frozen. That then clearly has a domino effect as no one rly wants to see all those big accounts just dump tokens.

You interviewed him? Where is this I wanna see

The strength is in the people not the leaders. A leader without sovereigns is nothing....

Couldn’t agree more.

You have every right to do so. As I suspect MK probably won't change his mind. So our community will walk away broken for the third time....

haha this is cool! I would actually love to see some different front ends on blurt like you said can create a bit of healthy competition.

Jacob said many times the best way to handle different ideas is with many front ends … each one can be open as you want. Dblurt.com would be 100% free speech, 100% Decentralized. 100% Anarchy … zero rules.

you need money though to develop them? I saw someone offering for 100 k lol someone might step up

100,000 Blurt ? What’s that ? Like $10 USD ? I already paid $20 for the domain.

no dollars haha

maybe they were overcharging tho! think the main thing really is finding a dev who wants to do it, maybe there is someone learning who would love an awesome project, a lot of ppl are free speech warriors and might love the opportunity from a forum.

Lilith, my queen 😻

who's this?
