So I checked out Oppenheimer today and this is my honest opinion about the movie.
My honest opinion .
Oppenheimer is Overrated. Hear me out.
It was the movie I anticipated the most this year and I guess I had too many expectations from Christopher Nolan, the director who is well known for directing some of best Sci-Fi movies ever. I love Cylian Murphy and he did a fantastic job portraying Dr. Oppenheimer, but the movie is overrated. I'd instead suggest you see "Fat Man And Little Boy", a nineties movie based on the creation of the First Atomic bomb.
Many scientific details missed in Oppenheimer were in this movie and maybe seeing this movie first made me expect better from Oppenheimer especially since the movie was about 3 hours long.
Oppenheimer also focused too much on the politics and morals post bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Perhaps this is what didn't excite me about the movie as the trailers were much more fiery and exciting than the movie itself.
It was also great finally seeing the scene which has made many Indians criticise the movie for not respecting the Holy book, Bavaghad Gita which was featured in a scene with nudity. I'm also of the opinion that it wasn't necessary to include a book considered holy in a scene showing a man who just cheated on his wife with his mistress.
Well, I honestly think the movie is great, but overrated imo.
You should check it out if you haven't and also "Fat Man And Little Boy" if you're interested in the history of the first Atomic bomb.
