Building a new server for my blockchain projects!

I'm in the process of building a new server at home for my blockchain projects!

While it is older tech, It's still a monster of a machine!

x2 CPUs @ 10 cores 20 threads each.
256GB of DDR3 Ram
Can connect 6-8 HDD to it so going to be having a 24TB raid array in there!
Can support x4 GPUs which I might end up adding at some point because then I can do some Boinc citizen science.

But basically, this is what I'll be hosting my Blurt Witness on in the future, as well as a Blurt RPC node and Blurt front end.

It'll also host my Hive witness node, RPC node as well, plus some other projects I run.

It'll also hold @chisdealhd's gaming VM when I get a graphics card in there.

It's going to be awesome!

I had though about getting a regular 2U server or something like that but those are crazy BIG!

This one it's a more traditional sized motherboard with regular case orientation. So I can buy a compatible computer case and have it take up way less space.

If you'd like to vote for my witness you can do so here https://blurtwallet.com/~witnesses?highlight=shmoogleosukami

I can firmly say that to run the witness node you don't need a lot of computing power but you do need a lot of storage. In the first months as a witness I used low cost hardware for this purpose. With a dual xeon you can get much better performance. Preferably SSD disks. After a lot of testing I was able to move my witness to a single processor HP Workstation Z400 and everything worked super smooth.

Blurt will likely not tax this system in the slightest, more going to heavy hardware due to other projects like hive.
