Fee Structure Changes to Tribaldex Pools Coming Very Soon

in blurt •  3 years ago

An important announcement was made regarding fees being added to the Diesel Pools on Tribaldex.

This will affect anyone holding liquidity pool tokens such as Gamestate's SWAP.DFY:SWAP.STATE and SPS:SWAP.STATE, or Blurt's own SWAP.HIVE:SWAP.BLURT, or any other pool.

Fee Structure Changes Coming to Hive-Engine

This is a significant step forward, in my opinion. Yes, we all like "free" but "free uniswap pools" are oxymoronic as, without those fees, the algorithm linking volume to earnings is totally missing. The only incentive currently available to LPers comes from a pool's admin (or others wishing to promote their tokens), and this is not really a long-term solution.

As swap fees are added to the pool, LPers will see the value of their LPs increasing in line with the volume of swaps for their pools. This is how uniswap is supposed to work when there are no additional external incentives. This should realign some pools in favour of volume rather than just token incentives.

Fees will be activated on 25th January.

One last thing to note, as there continues to be unwarranted confusion about this; indeed, that announcement mentions "Hive-Engine", which may further confuse users!

Tribaldex = Hive-Engine + Diesel_Pools + other_contracts

If you are trading token markets, such as SWAP.BLURT, then Tribaldex is just a different front-end to Hive-Engine - they process exactly the same trades and are both UIs of the same parachain.

If you are looking for LPs, then you won't find any on the Hive-Engine site! Not yet, anyway. The pools are called Diesel Pools and are only available on Tribaldex. However, I find a much better user experience using the BeeSwap platform; just login with your Hive username. I hope that clears up some mental anguish regarding "where am I?" - and without the need for any philosophy.

I've been finding BeeSwap rather useful.
But I'm now used to using Tribal, Engine, and Bee.
It really is a fantastic layer, giving us the things people in ETH still promise.
