A Tale of Activity During Hard Times

in blurt •  4 years ago

Those of you who remember Steem HF20, will notice that Blurt HF4 has one similar consequence - the fast increase in the reward pool!

Now, the new economic model was always likely to see the rpool increase over the first 2 weeks, but this payout error has led to far less activity and the resultant faster rise in the rpool.

This means that your votes are now worth more than a week ago. Yes, people may be concerned that they will get nothing back, but you will definitely get nothing without voting!

I recall Steem HF20 because the vast majority of people just waited until their RC replenished. This was pointless as it was possible to engage with small amounts of RC, if done modestly. That's what I did; I kept voting as I watched the rpool rise and rise. I got rewarded with an APR of about 40% for that one week - when the standard APR at the time was about 16-18%.

So, things may seem grim now, but carry on posting and voting and there will be rewards at the other end. I mean, what else is there to do? Powering down is slow and you can still vote while doing so.

Yup, willing to wait here. Thanks.

Still hoping for the missing rewards will be returned, if not it's still fine for me (I don't know about the others lol) of course the reward is a thing.

Well I hope the others can wait and not to judge too early, the people behind including you sir @rycharde of course sir jacob and the rest of the team are not wasting their efforts to discourage the users instead for the best of the blockchain and so as for the users.

great. thanks.

On the other hand, the bad news is that these bonuses are unlikely to be returned to their creators. I wonder if it is true?

what does that mean?

Reparations for missed payouts is what I'm getting out of that. I don't think folks are understanding how difficult that would be as it would necessitate changes be made to the current pool mechanics complicating greatly the fixes being looked at now. It would require (I'm guessing) a rollback to the point of the fork, which would then shift a change onto the activity taking place after the fork.

The rewards are gone, and are until further notice.

Maybe folks can pretend the reason we're here is social in nature until the tokens come back again. /s

BTW I noticed you reblurted.
have you always been able to reblurt posts?
That's another very strange bug that hasn't affected a very small number of users, but no logic I can find as to why it should work for those users. Thx.

At the beginning, reblurting does not work. I don't know since when, reblurting starts to work.

In four or five days we'll know for sure

Hope HF5 is before then.

Posts are paying out zero rewards,I wonder if the lost rewards could be returned later.
