How to Transfer Blurt to Your Wallet (Even Without a Blurt-Supporting Exchange)

Looking to add some Blurt to your wallet but your exchange doesn't support it? Don't worry, there's a way! This guide will show you how to transfer Blurt using Hive and the Hive Engine.

Logging In to Hive Engine via Hive Keychain

Before you start:

• You'll need a Hive account with posting and active keys set up in your Hive Keychain extension.
• You'll also need a Blurt account.
• Assuming your internet connection is functioning properly, let's move forward...

Approve the login request in Hive Keychain to proceed.

» Exchange HBD for Hive:

This tutorial assumes you already have HBD (Hive Backed Dollars) in your Hive wallet. If not, you'll need to buy Hive on an exchange that supports it (like Binance) and transfer it to your Hive wallet.

» Deposit Hive into Hive Engine:

• Head to hive-engine and log in with your Hive Keychain extension.
• Click "Wallet" in the top right corner and then "Deposit."
• Choose "Hive" as the token and enter the amount you want to deposit (ensure you have enough in your Hive wallet).
• Click "Deposit Hive" and confirm the transaction with your Keychain.
• You will see the Hive as swap.hive in the wallet.

» Swap swap.hive to swap.blurt:

• In the Hive Engine menu, select "Swap."
• Choose "swap.hive" from the "from" dropdown.
• Choose "swap.blurt" from the "to" dropdown.
• Enter the amount of swap.hive you want to swap (you can use all of it).
• Click "Swap" and confirm the transaction.

» Withdraw swap.blurt to your Blurt wallet:

• Go back to "Wallet" and click "Withdraw."
• Choose "Blurt" (even though it's swap.blurt)
• Enter the amount you want to withdraw (you can use all of it).
• In the "Withdraw Address" field, enter your Blurt »username«. (Double-check your »username« for typos and remove any spaces at the end.)
• Double-check the fees, minimum amount, and transaction details below before confirming.

» Wait for the transfer (may take longer than usual):

• Normally, the transfer should arrive within 15-30 minutes. However, in this example, it took 5-6 days due to an issue. The Hive Engine team identified and resolved the issue (reached via Discord).

» Verify the transfer:

• Once the transfer is complete, you'll see the Blurt tokens in your Blurt wallet (For this step, you'll need to log in to your Blurt wallet. I recommend using a secure extension like WhaleVault for Firefox.).

Now you have Blurt in your wallet! You can use it for various purposes within the Blurt ecosystem, just remember to keep some liquid Blurt for transaction fees. I'll now use my newly transferred Blurt to increase my Blurt Power (staking).

In my case, the transfer took an unusually long time to arrive. I contacted the Hive Engine Discord group for assistance. I've included the links to both the Discord group and Hive Engine below.
