Living A Healthy Life- I Am A Vegetarian

in blurt •  2 years ago

We should give people the freedom to choose how they want to eat or how they want to look. However, I know that most people want to look fit and perfect. For instance, I have been a vegetarian for a long time, but I was raised in a family where eating non-vegetarian food was the first choice in our diet.

My favorite dish used to be butter chicken, but no more. I have been a pure vegetarian for the last couple of years, which has helped me a lot in keeping myself fit.

At the same time, I have always felt strongly about animal welfare, so one day, when my most loved one encouraged me to give up meat, I did not think for a moment.

Let me clarify, it gave me no feeling of missing anything from my food. In fact, no therapy can give you the kind of feeling, the peace that quitting non-vegetarian food can. You feel so much more powerful and so much more connected to nature. You will feel a definite change in your energy. However, I am not saying that everyone should give up meat or what they like to eat.

As far as I am concerned, I don’t even miss chicken or any other meat that I used to eat almost every day. I don’t feel like eating it even if someone is eating non-vegetarian food in front of me.

I am happy that I opted for a healthy lifestyle, and contrary to popular belief, I have not lost weight by giving up meat. I am healthy and no fluctuation in my weight for the last couple of years, which stayed the same with regular workouts, biking and running. I am happy to see that more people are now following a vegetarian diet and are aware of the benefits of fitness. They are taking steps that keep them fit.

Healthy food for your healthy liver

Eat small quantities at a time, I eat 4 to 5 times a day. To keep my heart and liver fit, I eat things that are rich in fiber, such as wheat, millet, oats, etc. The presence of low cholesterol is in the fiber of oatmeal, sprouts, oats, and pulses, which keeps the liver healthy.

Eat green vegetables, sunflower seeds, flaxseeds, etc. They contain folic acid, which helps in maintaining cholesterol levels. Flaxseed, almonds, beans, fish, and mustard oil are rich in omega-3, which is good for the heart. I eat a few walnuts and almonds daily (if you’re not allergic to nuts).

Flour and sugar are harmful-

Trans fats are extremely harmful to health. Trans fats are produced when the oil is heated repeatedly or the oil is heated at a very high temperature. This is more so with vegetable oils.

Although there is no direct connection between heart disease and saturated fats (ghee, butter, cheese, red meat, etc.), so one should eat them in moderation.

Refined sugar, white rice, and white flour are more harmful than fats. Try to remove them from your diet.

For a healthy life, one should use jaggery powder instead of sugar, and brown rice instead of white rice.

Even if you are healthy, do not eat fat in excess of what your body needs. I'm talking about fat here, which includes butter, butter oil, and even refined oil.

Try a cup of green tea every day. Green tea contains catechin, which has neutral antioxidants that help reduce oxidative stress. Or have vitamin-C infused green tea that will help support your body’s immune system! Green tea will also boost your metabolism.

Finally, make sure you have an active lifestyle with healthy eating habits and proper workouts. You will see that you're happier than ever before.

Note- Please make sure you're not allergic to nuts and the suggestions are my personal opinions.
