The ashes of Lord Devamitta, who passed away in the middle of the ceremony, were buried in the middle of the ceremony.
"In the next incarnation, I will be born in a Brahmin caste in Varanasi and restore the Sambudhu order to prosperity...I will be born here twenty-five more times in order to spread the holy dharma of Shakya Munidra in the world."
Siri Devamitta Dharmapala said with a calm heart.
Thus came to an end the last moments of a glorious and indelibly inspiring life, unimaginable to a man of more than forty years of tireless and extremely difficult life...

Like King Dutugemunu who did the Mahasaya, with great dedication, the Moolagandha Kuti Vihara in Saranath, the holy land which had been in darkness for a long period of 800 years, was returned to the Buddhists and he wanted to see the place where a great temple was built and to breathe his last there...
Devapriya Valisingha cremated Sri Deha near the Holy Isipathana, buried a part of the ashes and placed it in a place in Moolagandha Kuti Vihara, and proceeded to build a stupa.
The journey to bring a part to Sri Lanka started from Calcutta Aura railway station.. From there, those noble remains were brought to Madras, and at the request of Parama Vijhartha Company, they were brought to its headquarters.
It was brought by train to Thalaimannar and then to Polgahawela with the sound of sadu songs from a large crowd...large people gathered on both sides.
From the Fort railway station, the Maha Perahera passed through a beautiful Ransivi house and reached the Maligakanda Viharaya. The ashes of the greatest sons of the Maha Sangharatna were buried at the headquarters of the Maligakanda Mahabodhi Company and the statue of the great son of Mother Sri Lanka was erected on it.
On that day, people started gathering in droves to see the ashes.. Since most of the Sri Lankans were unable to see the last body of this hero who sacrificed his life for the sake of the Buddha, the police built one wall of the temple to prevent hundreds of thousands of people from crowding in honor of Devamitta Mahayatidunha. The crowd dispersed to a nearby field. That was not enough either.
This noble heroic man should be named as the true father of the nation. Although there are hypocrites who call the remains of this noble man as mere corpses, any virtuous Buddhist who has thoroughly researched this character and seen his service in Dambadi cannot say so.
To see the Buddha, to sing the virtues, to see a religion, to find a religion, to lay down the path, these great heroes sacrificed their lives. Thanks to them, today we are enjoying the healing of the religion...how can an ordinary learned person explain the mentality of such heroic men.... Remembering a Veerya Vadana Parami Purana Bodhi creature, I bowed my knees and placed my hands on my head. Today, at the time of setting up the new statue at the Mahabodhi Agrasravaka Vehere, I worship the remains of this noble heroic son.
Dear Dhampal Yati, once again save this Sambudhu Sasuna for the mercy of the virtuous world...!!!!!
