Shopping time

We live in Galle's Labuduwa district. My mother and I usually go shopping in Galle city twice a week.

My mother had the day off yesterday. We drove into town early in the morning in my car. We arrived in town shortly after seven o'clock and had the entire morning to shop.

We started by going to Food City to get some vegetables. My mother purchased items that we require in our daily lives, as well as sweets for my brother. I chose a biscuit and chocolates . It was very appealing to me because it complemented my skin tone perfectly. Prices in this department were reasonable, and we did not need to bargain. My mother bought herself two pairs of gloves before leaving.

We then proceeded to the shoe department. The shop-assistant greeted us warmly. He showed us a pair of high-quality leather shoes. Leather shippers and footwear of various sizes and brands were on sale. Customers were squeezing into the store. They were either looking at the shippers or buying them. I closed fashionable pairs of shippers and left

It was nearly eleven o’clock. We stopped for lunch at a small café along the street. We went to a nearby park after lunch. We rested on a bench in the shade of tall trees while waiting for the shops to reopen in the afternoon
