Hi friends
Last week I got a chance to visit Bomburu Ella last Satuday. The Bomburuella Waterfall is located in Perawella, near the Nuwara Eliya-Badulla district line. It is also known as "Perawalla Falls" and stands 50 meters tall. It is Sri Lanka's largest waterfall, and it is made up of several smaller waterfalls that have been combined together.
The Bomburuella Waterfall gets its name from a lake in Sri Lanka's central province. It's a great place to relax, have a picnic, and take a bath if you want to. The Sri Lankan government prohibits camping at this location. The waters of the Bomburuella waterfall have been redirected to a nearby powerhouse and for use in agriculture.
Travel from Nuwara Eliya to Bomburuella through the Peradeniya-Badulla-Chenkaladi Highway and the Rendapola-Galahagama-Ambagasdowa Road, passing through Katumana, Seetha Eliya, and Hakgala to reach the Bomburuella Waterfall on Bomburuella Road in Uduhawara.
The Bomburu Ella Falls, located on the borders of the Nuwara Eliya and Badulla districts, around a 6 hour drive from Colombo, are a lesser known yet stunning flowing mass of rivulets among Sri Lanka's natural collection of waterfalls. Bomburu Ella, located in the Sita Eliya Kandapola Forest Reserve, is nothing short of spectacular, with its several falls plummeting down a height of around 50 meters and surrounded in crisp, chilly mist.
