Everything must be done as promised. You don't change the rules during the game. Why would anyone buy Blurt for the last two years if they knew that the Blurt Foundation would change its mind today and said: We will continue to control the blockchain with mined stake. I would not buy even a single Blurt. Such a change would expose foundation members to lawsuits.

I don't understand your concerns at all. Nothing will change in the witnesses ranking. Saboin, megadrive, tekraze, freakeao and several other active witnesses will stay on the top of the list, if necessary I will vote for them myself.

Image server and other expenses can be covered by the proposal. I will not allow megadrive to pay for anything out of his own pocket.

I would direct you to the comment left here by Saboin. The witness ranking is meaningless if there is nothing to witness. My concern is the complete failure of a chain that no longer has anyone as Saboin mentions

blurt.blog frontend
blurtwallet.com frontend
4 RPC nodes load balanced available publicly at rpc.blurt.world
1 RPC node to serve all the backend services
image proxy
image uploader
image storage
image server
notifications server
Blurt signup tools (selfhelp.blurtwallet.com, joinblurt Discord bot, etc.)
Blurt account recovery tools
Blurt block explorer

To simply say give them the boot and ignore these functions is crazy. I question how any with any level of investment here would think this is a good idea. It's a shame that those who would see them step aside haven't already been setting up the infrastructure necessary for the continued running if they were to leave.

Because there have been zero efforts made to prepare for their leaving, I can't see how this would be less than catastrophic.

Who says they have to leave? They'll keep doing what they've been doing and the expenses will be funded by the proposal system. Read the post you linked to again because it looks like you don't understand something

They'll keep doing what they've been doing? Why do you assume that? From the post I linked to

At the start of Blurt, the Foundation made a binding commitment to end its regency exactly after 2 years. And now these 2 years will be over exactly on 07.07.2022.

What will this mean?

The members of the Foundation will be normal Blurt users, just like you and me.

The monthly payments to all members of the Foundation must end by 07/07/2022. Until the community will have decided about it, in my opinion, to @saboin the payments should be continued for the time being, because @saboin receives them for his developer work.

It's assuming a lot to just feel that any of the foundation employees will just continue on, even the one the former whale said he approves of keeping on as though once again he has some final say. Maybe Saboin doesn't want the sole responsibility and has appreciated the help Tekraze has been for him. Has anyone even asked any of these people if they would want to continue on? I know that assumption kind of bit Justin Sun in the ass after he bought Steemit.inc.

This push to eradicate the only stability this chain has had for two years with so little thought put into how their loss will be compensated for is one of the worst business plans one could advocate for.

You said originally

Why would anyone buy Blurt for the last two years if they knew that the Blurt Foundation would change its mind today and said: We will continue to control the blockchain with mined stake.

I bought into Blurt a year and a half ago because of the Foundation. In my time here, I've seen almost zero action taken by any of the self proclaimed champions of decentralization seeking to take any of the burden off of the Foundation in preparation for a day when they would be stepping aside.

In my estimation, I question why anyone would hold an investment in a project with no stability or structure. I need more than that myself, and believe Blurt would be a definite bad investment if we destroy the little semblance we have to a structure here.

I still don't understand why this post was created. Did saboin or megadrive told you or write somewhere that they intend to break a promise made two years ago? Or have they told you that they intend to leave Blurt and cease all activities after fulfilling their promise?

If so, tell us what you know. Otherwise your post only discusses hypothetical situations, in my opinion not worth wasting time on

No one tells me to write anything. I'm a concerned stakeholder who has every right to have an opinion on this as one of you whales. I wrote this post in the hopes that as I saw demonstrated earlier this year, a witness vote might prevent what will surely be suicide for the chain. And if one is not forthcoming quickly and the plan is to allow the chain to drift off with no developers or plans that I can hopefully exit before the token loses most of its value.

Or have they told you that they intend to leave Blurt and cease all activities after fulfilling their promise?

I saw not one but two comments from separate foundation folks they would leave before serving under anything double-u is running. I also note the response you have gotten from megadrive here in this very post.

Otherwise your post only discusses hypothetical situations, in my opinion not worth wasting time on

I would say likely situation, and as I mention above, while my holdings indeed pale before your own, they still hold value to me. Enough so that perhaps enough witnesses and community members might not feel my post is a waste of their time and understand the foolishness of shitting on the only form of stability we have and vote for an extension of the Foundations oversight.

Because surely the handful of whales who will be calling the shots if the Foundation steps aside have demonstrated zero desire or technical implementation that would serve to indicate all will run smoothly, or even run at all.

I saw not one but two comments from separate foundation folks they would leave before serving under anything double-u is running.

I think I saw the comments you are talking about, one wrote megadrive and the other wrote rycharde. Are you buying this? Tell me how someone with zero stake and number 31 on the witness list can take over the entire blockchain? Maybe the foundation members can explain it?
The truth is they knew D-day is coming and did nothing to make the process go smoothly. That's OK, I made a reasonable proposal in the comments about how to get out of this, but they probably don't like it. No wonder, it's nice to get a hundreds of blurts every hour and sell it.
Your/Mine stake will be worth nothing if their answer to decentralization is more centralization. I haven't started the powerdown yet and the blurt price on probit is already crashing. Foundation's greed will destroy something that was growing nicely and had a future. I'm sorry to see you standing up for them. Oh and LOL once again, that evil double-u, he'll steal our blockchain when we decentralize it. Complete nonsense.

👍

It was Tekraze and Mega. Rycharde was arguing over greed in the thread.

I'm not opposed to a transfer, which I thought was clear in my post but perhaps not. What I oppose is how we got to three weeks away and the first I'm hearing of this deadline is from the whale with an axe to grind and no solutions as he is sharing it.

I've went through a few stages since reading that post. My initial shock, to bewilderment and now a growing anger as I question if I've wasted all this time and the little money I had AGAIN as I did at Steem and then Hive.

All I know is that since this post I'm not being inspired with where this has been headed either. I've seen only one post discussing it, which the person starts off saying they disagree with me before proceeding to basically say a mix of my position and yours in the comment about a solution.

I've asked those who are a part of the Foundation to stop dragging this out and put themselves definitively on record, which was what I thought this post would accomplish. Clear cut positions so we would know where we were moving next.

This is for regent that would already be dead. There is no statement that bf will handover everything, just stop making more lies and go away.

You have again messed up the price. If you continue to do so, you will lose my respect for you, whatever of it is left because of our past good relation.

Just please stop.

If you wanna stay that badly, stay, but don't mess the price

I have never deliberately damaged the price.
I made sales after my first big power down.
Yes, that has depressed the price.
But I wanted some money back from my investment.
That's very legitimate.
Am I going to leave my money with you guys where a lot of people really hate me?
I haven't sold a single blurt since weeks.
Persons who think otherwise are just paranoid.

Am I going to leave my money with you guys where a lot of people really hate me?

Your money is your money not ours, either you spend it or keep it

I have never deliberately damaged the price.
I made sales after my first big power down.
Yes, that has depressed the price.

If that was the case why now,.and like this. You can simply continue your posts, vote each other in the community, then why again creating fud and dropping the price

That too when you yourself said, final bye. You are still here escalating things .being old members and a senior one who cared for people, I have thought more from you, but you instead behaving like a child

And if you continue the same, you will not even get, what you can before messing the price

If you keep doing like this, not only our share, but yours too will be destroyed.

And if you really want your investment back, stop this nonsense and let blurt grow back to Its price

Atleast let the community be here in peace

Not getting involved in this argument as it is petty, just like back in 2017 and the steemit, berniesanders show, not interested, like the people on here, no interest or time to run this place, got enough going on here. Not getting that involved.

I understand and probably a position many will take.

I get involved because I like Blurt and see a lot of potential here. Based on my research after reading the post along with the comments it appears possible anyway that the Foundation possibly will be forced to step back in a few weeks.

I believe such will wreck the chain, which I personally don't wish to happen. If it appears over the next week it is likely I will need to power down my holdings and cash out before they become worthless, which they will for sure if we are to rely on the likes of double-u to maintain the structure filling the void that will be left.

I'm hopeful that enough will be interested and see the foolishness of destroying the chain to feed the ego of a former whale here and desire for the chain to continue on.

I do not know the inner workings on here, but have invested time and money, and every time I see these arguments I see my investment diminish overnight. Like today.

Maybe if they could all find some common ground, talk on discord, or on here without arguments, come to some sort of agreement, set it in place, move forward in harmony with everyone happy, then it might be worth investing in, till then, not putting another cent in here or giving away the thousands in blurt via contests that I did before.
Not angry, just not willing to lose money because some adults cannot be bothered to talk without pointing fingers and playing the blame game, I get enough of that from politicians and my local mayor.

So this is how it ends? As usual, greedy people don't want to give up power

Disappointing watching the destruction.

This is how I Will Print and Sell / You Will Buy business model works

Maybe it was needed for the first two years but not today. Check all the foundation's accounts and you'll find it's time to stop printing worthless blurts, they've printed enough

The community should be able to replace most of what the foundation does, or else there never really was a decentralization of Blurt.

I've never seen anything that is this word decentralized. It's telling that those calling for the Foundation to step away have themselves offered no "replacement" for what they do. In effect, a call for the suicide of the chain.

Does a mother abandon the up keep or training of her child when the child becomes two years? The answer is NO! Promises are made quite true but the circumstance surrounding the fulfillment of such promise MUST be for the best interest of the system and not based on PERSONAL BENEFITS. I wish to also strongly support that the Blurt foundation remain until it is absolutely necessary for its departure. I am relatively new but going through this post and some other posts earlier I am obliged to say that double u needs to reconsider his position. Most people on the decentralized chain are business people. They just want to cash out and leave. Let me give you an example! I bought a token called "Luna" with a huge sum of money which i may not be able to mention here, then suddenly it crashed and went below two cents. I kept holding and then suddenly I heard news of a second version of that token and the second version took the same name as the first while those of us who had the first version were taken and given the second version which no one knows when it will return to the price i bought it. That may just be one example among many. Like @practicalthought said, decentralization would imply dependency and the subsequent and long term effect would be devastating.
I suggest @double u commits himself more and jut like @megadrive wrote be ready to bear and even contribute even if it means financially to the continous improvement of blurt. My little take on this..
