Recently, there has been much discussion on two different topics. Topics that often are classified together although they are two distinct areas. I wish to discuss today one of these, playing devils advocate to some degree as I’m prone to doing.
Before delving in, I wish to let those of you curious know I’ll be resuming my edification posts soon. I’ve been really busy and tired lately, which is why it’s been nine days since my last actual post.
So now onto the topics at hand, and my urge for us as a community to not be to hasty in our zeal to correct what is surely a problem. So very often when groups target problem(s) to solve, the result can be worse than what was being targeted to fix, hence the saying the road to hell is paved with good intentions.
Fighting Plagiarism
There has been much talk recently on fighting this crime here. A discussion that is necessary as not only is it a crime punishable by law, but more importantly (in my opinion) because its the decent thing to do.
There has been talk develop in the last day publicly on the raising of fees to combat this. I understand how this will combat it for sure. However my concerns in this are for those who come here with no resources. I’ve noted in my year here that there are some I’ve encountered who were greatly impeded in their ability to post and interact due to not having any liquid Blurt, and no means within their economic chains in the real world to actually purchase some.
I saw in one of the threads on this a comment that by raising the fees it would serve to force others to purchase Blurt. I will state now that in some cases this very well could be a result.
But I see it much more likely that it will further act as a deterrent for those of little to no economic means to be able to join and participate in this wonderful system we have at Blurt.
Now it’s possible that for many these folks who find themselves in such dire straights are viewed as leeches, as they are perhaps so desperate in their struggle for daily food, clothing and shelter that they are always extracting. Extracting to try subsidizing the shitty hands they have been deal, and perhaps even children they have who by no fault of their own are also chained by extension to the poverty that they were born into.
I understand completely the idea that for Blurt to flourish, that we need more investing than extracting for the project to work for everyone, investors and those who are extracting, Yet there is not only room for both, I believe/view Blurt as a means that we can demonstrate that an economy can work as we lift our brothers and sisters up from their local economies that are rigged to keep most in chains of poverty.
My apologies I don’t have the source for what I’m about to say next.
Many of you who follow me know that I researched Blurt heavily before coming, which led mostly to an investigation of Jacob as he was the predominant voice online for Blurt.
I did the same thing when I joined Steem over 4 years ago. Which involved researching Dan Larimer.
There was one thing (actually many things) he said that I’m hopeful is a view that has carried over to Blurt. He was discussing how Steem originally wasn’t being designed to be a blogging platform. I forget what the original intent was.
But he said that they ended up going with blogging as it seemed the best method to distributing the most coins into the hands of the most people.
Nowhere in that idea did he mention the need for one to have a certain level of economic success to participate. It was inclusive for all men and women, regardless of race, country or economic means.
Like many, I’m trapped to a degree into a level of poverty. And obviously if we were to raise the bar economically to exclude certain groups of lower means, who are trapped in much worse poverty than myself it would minimize those who are extracting. Extracting to put food in their mouth today, as unlike myself they can’t afford to wait for some future possibility on the value rising. A rising that for sure is going to take longer, or maybe never happen due to the extraction taking place now.
Yet, it doesn’t escape me that for many, their need is now, not in the future as I dream of manifesting for myself.
I entered Steem as a crypto skeptic. It didn’t take long for me to see the reality of the unique reward stake system we have here. To understand that it allowed someone of even my modest means to help another much worse off now, and get rewarded for doing so. I’m still a crypto skeptic, but when it comes to this community driven system we have here, I’m a believer. I’ve seen it in action, seen the lives impacted.
So after having said all of that, I’m hopeful that in our fight against those who for whatever reason are copying others work, that we not price out the many honest desperate folks who we can help right now.
It bothers me immensely when I see actions being taken that will negatively impact more good people than the bad people it is implemented to stop.
Before moving on, I wish to give a real life example of another good intention that led to hell.
Years ago, I was in a bad place and worked for about half a year at a convenience store on the graveyard shift.
Tucson had enacted a law for those with disabilities, with good intentions for sure. The law said that every public space that offered a public restroom must be wheelchair accessible.
The store I worked at would have had to tear down one of the foundational walls and perform major reconstruction to accommodate it. So their response, as with many businesses, was to close the public restrooms to the public. Now no one could go to the restroom there, all were now on equal suffering with those few in wheelchairs.
I’m asking the witnesses who are raising these fees to please be mindful of those being impacted who’ve done nothing wrong, and could very well be priced out of participation here.
I also wish to say I’ve seen another account set up to fight content theft who is actually trying to demand accounts take a selfie holding a paper that says Blurt. This is bullying, and in my opinion has no place here. I’ve never shared my picture here, never will. I also noted the account demanding this from others has no selfie of themselves on their blog.
Steem and Hive went to shit because of these self appointed police who take things to far. I’m very thankful there are no flags here, because we know they would already be flying at this point, traveling at top speed towards the hell here for those targeted.
There must be civility in how we handle this. With clear care and concern for any innocents who can find themselves handicapped or targeted.
I also keep hearing of a COAL list. I would like for there to be a post on COAL, how it works please and who has the authority to place one on such a list, are there any ways to get off such a list, or appeal being placed on it to begin with etc.
I thank you for reading this, and am hopeful that we can all figure out ways to combat this while not setting a bar to high for many to join and participate. As well as see if we can implement an action that is more of a call in rather than a call out. I’ve counseled a few here on wrong actions in my time here that have changed what they were doing as we discussed the issues at hand. Some folks don’t mean the harm they cause, and if given a chance with understanding and patience, are willing to change.
Reading your publication makes me reflect on the importance of blurt as a non-oppressive means of the masses and above all as a means to help the underprivileged, here the doors are always open. However, we have to address a reality of which little is said.
First of all there is an abnormal activity within the blockchain, in which it can be said that there are vicious circles that are damaging our infrastructure and precisely because of our principle of freedom we end up being harmed. So the only way to equalize or balance the equation is to make the people who publish a million of garbage publications suffer the cost of the fees, I am not saying that it is the effective way but in the last large scale attack could weigh many many losses. Which then leads me to wonder if there is a better way to combat the farmmers and spammers.
The coal list is a list that integrates with the Front End, basically anyone could report plagiarism in a discord channel, or just make mentions to moderators in posts. Once the plagiarism was verified, an update was made at the code level and this did not allow the user to make any type of vote or publication, in addition a message was added why the account had been disabled. This reminds me of Hive Watchers with the difference that there were no obscene messages, bullying or xenophobia as my Venezuelan brothers have suffered.
The fees lead to buy more blurt, I would say it depends on the angle you look at it. I would say that we would have a better performance if people commented, reblogged and made more continuous publications. Then we should make an assessment of how many fees a person might consume and what happens when they stop owning blurtliquids. For new users there is your introduction post in which you will get 25% liquids that will allow you to advance, for obvious reasons for your first publication requires some blurt. For users who make life constantly power down and additional option always has a 25% liquid of their earnings so unless the fees are more than $ 1 then I would say that there is no problem. It is a matter of analyzing the changes that are being implemented from the witnesses.
Good intentions do not get pregnant, so they say in my country, I think your post speaks significantly about the value of our blockchain and how this chain helps, encourages to make this a better world, however from my technical side I think we have many shortcomings to counter potential threats and attacks to our platform.
In case you are interested here is the github of the COAL list, which does not contain more information.

The new account that claims to fight against plagiarism should first of all prove that it is a real person, secondly work on providing better ideas than just asking for a photo with a name, which can be done by anyone anywhere in the world. I think he is just another Nazi like Hive Watchers until he proves he has better ideas.
Thank you for giving such a well thought out answer. In some of these things I will confess I'm ignorant. Yet I can see how many who are in a bad state can be pushed away from Blurt by this action.
You say that there is
I confess to not knowing what it is, as I don't partake in the Discord groups. I rarely look at the Hot/Trending/New feeds because most of it is crap, just like they are at Steem and Hive. I've always attributed that to a combination of my pickiness in interest coupled with many who post who have no idea how to interact online.
My question though on that line of thought is why aren't the sources of this abnormal activity being addressed directly rather than seeking a remedy that will with certainty harm innocent users and potential future users who will be economically barred from participation?
On the second point, I'm not against a COAL list at all. Every platform on the web is required by law to take actions against proven content theft, hate speech etc. This would seem to me the logical area to focus on, as long as it has stringent steps that allow innocent parties to not be targeted unfairly by an overzealous judge or worse, by someone who disagrees with the persons ideas or race etc.
You also mentioned those who are always on perpetual power down. This is somewhat of a touchy area for myself. For years I would watch whales target those who had the audacity to power down their wallets, meanwhile many of these same whales are cashing out tons of stake. I find it somewhat disingenuous that any of us could tell another what they could do with their rewards. That si a soft way of saying we believe they are only yours as long as you don't touch them, if you do we don't want you getting anymore. There is one account here at Blurt that lays claim to having bought a car from their Blurt earnings. I say good for them. And for those who are able to use it for more common things, like a meal tonight, a doctor trip for their little child etc good for them too. They earned that by all of the valid stake claims that were given (voted) on their activity here. If at any time folks get uncomfortable supporting someone who is cashing out, that in my opinion is between those of stake voting and the person posting who is cashing out.
I'm not even against the idea of raising costs, even if it was just the witnesses saying it was necessary to offset something else such as rising utility costs.
But I think we need to be aware of the casualties this is going to cause, and if possible tweak how this is being implemented to lessen the impact on good people being asked to pay the price (one they can't afford to pay) for those who are doing wrong.
Thank you again for giving such an insightful comment. I'm thankful for conversations such as these. They don't always go in the direction hoped for in the long run, but it allows for light to be shed on a larger area of the topic at hand.
Edited to add
Agreed
I have always said that if the system allows something then there must be a reason for it. Speaking of cars and material things, coincidentally these days my phone died suddenly, my car after a long trip has been left tired and with sequels (a way of saying that its shock absorbers were damaged and other things). The truth is that these costs will probably be assumed by Blurt or in this case in a better way I will make a power down to be able to continue fighting. Nobody, nobody can question me for it because I have not stolen from him, I have not taken from him and with a lot of effort I have waited patiently to be able to obtain some profit. The fees was an improvised topic so I didn't even have time to make a post, but when I read yours I figured that we should clarify the reason for the increase before saying that it is better because you buy blurt, that is not the reason.
Exactly. One of my edification posts was for a man here who powered down most of his stake. If it helps him ease his struggle for him and his family I'm glad I could be a part of that.
If Blurt can help you keep your car running, and with a phone then good for you, and I'm proud that I was a part of that as well.
To me that's a huge part of what makes this so special what we have here. Seeing others not be dragged under into the bowels of economic pressure those with guns in our area try to keep us in. It saddens me of course, but in the context of what I believe that could have been worth down the road from both a higher coin valuation coupled with the way it grows on itself.
I too need shocks, have for some time. As well as a fuel system maintenance. I just haven't had the money. A few months ago I spent 800.00 on two sensors, before that it was 800.00 on rear brakes. I think the front ones are close to needing replaced now too. Hard to come up with as my car payment and insurance are hitting me for 500.00 a month. I figure if I can hold out a couple of more months I will have my car repair credit card down enough I can max it out again and take care of whichever one of those problems are the worst threat, lol.
When we increased the fees, I had a similar thought. For new accounts, even a small increase can be a problem. For a short time, however, I think this measure makes sense and there are also successes. For example, the massive spams in #deutsch have not occurred so far.
It has already been suggested to take the fees back to the old value. Unfortunately, I can't say when exactly that will happen, but I guess by the end of the week.
A word about the new endplagiarism account, I don't know who it is, I thought it was quite good in the beginning that someone is taking care of it. However, and this bothers me, the posts and comments sound to me like there is some official empowerment. I'm not aware of anything that Witness or the Foundation this have given . So that's a point that we'll sort out over the next few days.

Flags are comments now. And if people want to "Fight" some form of bad thingy like plagiarism and account squatting, THEY can do it WITHOUT my consent.
I came to the BLOCK to do My OWN Thinking and I DO NOT need some self appointed WANKS explaining Their Methods to me like we share a contract.
Which is why I'm here now.
Thank you for posting this out!
I did see someone say that if people plagiarise then it could be outsourced to another platform that chases plagiarism and is dedicated to that. I guess in a way that does keep this as an actual decentralised platform, it's kind of like Facebook. Facebook doesn't really care about plagiarism, or didn't when it was more popular it left it to it's users I guess to fight those battles with the courts etc. I don't really have an opinion as see both sides.
IF...
people plagiarize...
That's the Broad statement... I think those idiots defile the blockchain by world policing the chain with THEIR policy and interpretation of posts on a block.
I was "Flagged to Oblivion" by DV Flaggots on HIVE mainly because they decided I fit their definition of a "Reward Pool Rapist" yet these DVers THEMSELVES are clearly scammy circle jerking near 80% of this "Rewards Pool" mainly from Flaggoting MY REWARDS. : /
seems strange,
They just hate themselves on a deep level
yes but they're deforming my ART Studio...
Yeah hypocrisy was somethint I noticed a lot lol but I think it’s just that spiritual concept you are triggered by your own shadow till you truly own it and accept it as part of you.

What's the link between people plagiarising and the idea that increasing the fees will help to stop it?
Does increasing the fees have the consequence of increasing the reward pool?
Will fees increase for comments too and therefore discourage people from interacting with each other?

That might work.
I think saying it once is enough!
I say raise the fees … if people need 10 Blurt to post something original then send them 10 Blurt. It’s very easy to send a minnow 10 Blurt …. As long as they do not plagiarize stuff.
Blurt changed the 25/75 scheme precisely so that you would get 255 of your cash rewards, so the first week could be difficult. But if you come with the intention of doing a good job in getting the first rewards there shouldn't be any problems, additionally there is the possibility that a good friend of Blurt will send them to you, also power club has the idea of the liquid blurt dispenser, so there are many things to do and to discover.
Agreed. People who post good original content should not have any issues with these fees.
Who exactly will be sending it, and how many people can he/she send to in a day?
Any Blurt Whale with millions of Blurt could easily send out 10 Blurt per day.

Raising fees is a very political tool, seeing it daily, but not my site, not my choice. Nice to see you on here all the same.
Hello matey !
Slightly (very) off topic - but also, kinda not....
I would, I guess, qualify as one of those on ' the low end of the socio economic spectrum'.
As with Steem, and then Hive, I was able to grow my account and live off some of the rewards. ( I can probably do that here, if needs be).
Here's a question....one I'm having conflicting feelings about, and it pertains to something I pointed out in our previous misunderstanding (pre hug).
If I (you) had the choice, and you could have 'your daily bag of lentils' filled by some benevolent benefactors on 'the layer 2 extension, of the platform that shall not be named' - by cross posting - would you ?
As a purely pragmatic decision, the choice is an obvious one.
Not only that, it allows me to not extract value (or much less) , from platform , I want to see grow - Blurt .....see what I mean?.....It's an ethical dilemma (for me).
There's both logical, and pragmatic reasons to pursue this one of cross posting strategy - one that can only help Blurt in the long run (in more ways than one).
Then there is the very obvious ethical contradictions for me personally.
It's a personal choice at the end of the day - but with no clear cut, satisfying, resolution.
'The cross posting option' would - at least as a short/medium term strategy - be optimal for everyone (except for the platform that shall not be named - it's purely wealth extraction).
I'd love to hear your perspective on this very 'Gordian knot-esque' position , that I find myself in....
(I'll only say this once more , just to be mega clear - and then leave it in the bin of history - have absolutely no doubts as to where I stand)..
Speaking solely for myself, up to now I've chosen not to fill my bags elsewhere. When I left Hive I had a blog that performed really well. I left that because I made the decision I couldn't support the actions that I saw taking place against those I'd grown to care about. I left there choosing nothing as a substitute.
I understand that my contributions there make the Hive chain more valuable, and despite the many who are still there I wish nothing but the best for, I prefer starving the beast and not increasing the value of their system that is so abusive to those who are of similar mindset and feeling as I.
I understand the dilemma poised, as I know I could go back and do well there. This was evidenced by my lengthy absence before going back to post about folks needing to claim their Blurt accounts if they wanted to be part of the airdrops that have already begun manifesting. Even after a long absence and the topic being about an alternative system, my post did pretty good.
But, in good conscience I can't bring myself to add value to their system.
My contributions hold value, and once in their possession it is their property forever.
Speaking off subject a moment, I'm surprised that those who never migrated to Hive haven't formed a class action suit for Hive importing all of their writing onto their front ends without permission. They pretend to be against content theft yet have pulled perhaps the largest example of content theft I've ever witnessed. That belonged to the Steem blockchain, not the Hive blockchain.
Anyway, I try not to judge to harshly what another does with their time and property if the only casualty from it is themself. My opinion might be it's something I won't do, and I think it supports a system that is corrupt so is shortsighted, a form of selling out really. But that's an action of benefits and repercussions that is a personal choice.
There are some who post there and occasionally come here. I still support them, although I wish they would come here for the reasons outlined above.
If others wish to perform an action I consider selling out for a few tokens by enriching those running that system, and are willing to take abuse in exchange for some tokens, that is a personal choice that isn't mine to determine, other than to point out sometimes it isn't worth it in my opinion. I believe in personal property and freedom of action as long as it's not harmful to others. Which is why I choose Blurt.
I appreciate the input - It's very similar to my own thoughts.
(I'm still struggling with the pragmatic - strategic option - of taking from a corrupt system to help support this one though...bugger..lol )
Thanks !
It's simple Bruv... the VYB option is just more of the Wrong Thing Done Righter... I did the card spread on it and can tell from experience... BLURT is THE place to correct all of the bad mistakes from the other chains...
IMHO.
you did the tarot cards on it? I should do the same actually I never read for the platforms just love lol

Or the Other One was... I forget which. 😐
I think that is very admirable, if I could get to a point that blurt could subsidise my lifestyle as hive did just at the right time over lockdown I would do the same because I do agree with you. although at the same time hive is just a platform and in a way thinking that someone 'owns' it is an issue because if we could take our power back then we realise we all own it there are also layer two platforms that are interesting like vyb etc I guess because of that we now have half the ppl there and half here but if everyone I liked to engage with came here then I think we could just focus here for sure. Over lockdown I didn't get one photography job and honestly it pushed me to quit because I had wanted to for ages but at this point in my switch over to art and spiritual pursuits these blogs and peoples support has been instrumental in allowing me to make that switch. At this point I can't really move over to support any one platform but in time I think it will become easier to make choices and focus. Of course people that have more fixed jobs and this is more of a sideline have the freedom to make stronger choices easier. Also with nfts and selling my actual work, it's a huge cut to an audience to leave one platform. I guess it's like we promote our art on Facebook, instagram, snapchat, Flickr etc etc we know that it helps to grow our audience to have more people see it.

A poor analogy, matey.
If the bank robbers steal $100, and the gas prices are $99.50 - would they bother ?
and everyone else would quit their jobs because they wouldn't be able to afford to drive to work
I never get why people are so crazy about people withdrawing their dollars to live on / pay for materials. Everyone is gong to cash out at some point, hive has been going for ages. I don't believe living off the money and using it as a portion of ones salary is somehow a lower choice to keeping it there for 4 years then pulling it out and buying something. It's ridiculous no one is leaving it in there for infinity. I understand when a platform is rly rly new ,like blurt feels like it's still finding it's feet but these others are established now. Blurt also we are keeping in partly for selfish reasons because we want the platform to grow so it does become an amount where we can subsidise our life whilst posting. If people really 'don't care' about the money I dare them to cross al their posts and decline payout lol .

I like BLURT because it's a land of freedom where your property is respected. It is sad to see that delegation to several accounts has been restricted due to different opinion about how things should be done in BLURT. I entered cryptoverse because I'm fed up with authority. There is no fun in blogging if you know there are people watching you closely, waiting for you to make mistakes. Blogging should be free and fun, BLURT is my sanctuary to express my mind. And I don't like the idea of people tell me what to do with my blog.
However, I do agree that intellectual property of others should be respected in our blog, but that should be done in a way that is not harming the fun side of blogging. We have a long journey ahead, what is the point if there is no fun in it?
Don't lose hope. Blurt is a unique social chain. I discuss several topics that my position is against some of the more popular narratives. I wouldn't waste my time if I felt it was for nothing. It would be more lucrative to just post what goes with the flow, but then if I was like that I would have just stayed at Hive, lol.
We have some very good folks at the foundation and holding witness positions. I believe most to respect personal property and have compassion for others.
We might not always agree, but we can discuss these issues without it devolving into personal attacks and grudges.
It's imperative they get a handle on the content theft as I've been told its growing rampant here. I'm hopeful that once they have the COAL program implemented that it will work in a way that allows dignity while allowing them to lower fees and not ask all to pay the price for the actions of some.
For sure, this isn't the way to make an experience welcoming. I called out an account recently because they've been demanding others they believe are lying about who they say they are to post a selfie holding a paper that says Blurt. Not only is it not their place to demand such a thing, they themselves don't have a selfie on their blog. That is how things work on the other chains. I don't wish to see mobs happen here as we see on the other chains.
I believe as with all things, it will be up to those with strong voices to enter the conversations when important changes are made such as this. It might not change the course taken, but perhaps it will. And when it doesn't it also might create some actions that will help mitigate damages wrought from the new ways.
Thanks for reading and weighing in.

My journey also started from this by copying the content of the people and post here and when I was caught in front of everyone, I understood.
It was a bad time for me
I'm thankful that you have shared this with us here.
You are proof that a softer approach can work some times, softer in the sense you were obviously given a chance to learn and grow and you have. I'm glad that you chose to wish to grow into the Blurt community and own what you had done and understand you are worthy to be one of us here.
Thanks you so much..

I agree with you for most points. I am approx.. 2 year old one in Steemit and just started blurt. Never used hive. But When I considering blurt with steemit or hive, the most valuable thing is no flags here. But that also may be a reason to come spammers here. In hive or steemit(Old one) when spammers try to milk hive or steem, whale are always downvote them to protect the reward pool. But those sites already more censorship and no place for small users.
So blurt is good than those. But when come to the scammers or abuser, We must have some functions to stop them. Increasing fees is one good alternative and my best option is block the spammers accounts from blurt team after some kind of review system.
Yes, I agree they must be dealt with. I grow weary however when the answer is punitive to those of least means who've done no wrong. I guess I'm hopeful that there can be some care given by those implementing these changes to those who can least afford to pay a cost they don't have in an effort to combat thieves.
Using myself as an example, in the last 1 year and 4 days since I joined Blurt, my spreadsheet shows I've paid out 711.04 Blurt to transact here. And i know I've missed some fees so it's actually higher than that.
During my time at Steem and Hive it seemed to me that the whales were often the ones spamming the most. The rules there were to negate valid reward pool claims and redirect them to the whale accounts who were the biggest slammers in most cases.
Thank you for reading and weighing in.
Seems to be a case of over reaction, charging the many for the actions of the few, is this place run by politicians urg.
I was told by one of the witnesses that the fees will be reduced again soon.
I personally favor targeting the actual abusers, as long as it's all transparent to ensure if any abuse starts seeping in over personality/belief differences the community can mob up on the abuser pretending to be acting in the communities interests.
There are laws that hold platforms liable if they look the other way in the case of content theft, so I understand the need for them to do something as long as it doesn't evolve into what we've seen on the other chains.
Many here know that path, and are here because we love freedom. No way will the community stand by silently and allow innocents to be targeted, so as long as we have that visibility (accountability) I think the COAL list is a better direction.
I agree with "I personally favor targeting the actual abusers".
And yes, the turf wars at hive and steemit are good lessons in how not to do things.

I like your writing. I want to give you some information. When I post on hive, my post is downvoted by the team. Because I transferred the hive to my friend's ID (steemibu351), that too two years ago. They say these two IDs belong to the same person. But we have two different entities, and I post authentic. We have tried many times to explain to them that harmonic and steemibu351 are two different person's IDs and we are two friends. But they do not understand that. I can never be stable there. This is sad but ridiculous.
Thank you for sharing a real life example of how these witch hunts can so often harm innocents. I'm sorry you had to go through that there.
There has been injustice done to the innocent. But I'm not upset now. Because I got dignity in blurt. i create post, and at first upload this in blurt then others site. I found my future in blurt.
And many of us (myself for sure) are glad you're here.
Yeah. And Thank you very much

I am a small user here but loves the platform thats why i am here. My journey also started with steem but that time i didnt know the rules and regulations, even i didnt know about crypto. So i sell everything that my friend said to me. I read that blurt is increasing the fees. But for that will be problem for the small users but the founders and developers knows than me. I dont want to loose blur like steemit. I wanna stay in it. When i was in active i delegated my power to my friend but i revoked it some days ago. Lets see what happens next. Have a nice day to you.
Best of luck now that you've returned.
I would ask that those of you who will be most impacted please stay in contact with the witnesses on this. Many of them are quite honorable and I don't believe the raise in fees is intended to harm those who can least afford it who have done no wrong. I wrote this mostly to make sure that we as a community be aware of this impact and not allow it to drive smaller accounts away or act as an impediment to those who might join.
If you find the fees to cost prohibitive, I believe you will find open minds with many of the witnesses who may look into adjusting something to mitigate problems.

This game is kinda fun. :)
haha
yes I think the difficulty to get started with no investment is a block for a lot of ppl. I know people say that they should invest to join but the thing is that a lot of people want to see something working first. Especially if they are new to crypto they probably have a low trust so actually seeing that it's great will in future encourage. I do worry about the block to entry even with the 3 dollar start up investment. Not because it's 3 dollars but people have to learn crypto to get going and it puts them off, but once you have some crypto and want to move or add more then by that point they are invested so will be more inclined to learn than from a point of nothing. I wonder if they could make it so you could od your initial top up with fiat currency? We have mostly all come from hive and probably don't understand the mentality of new users. I have a TON of creative contacts and friends who do find the getting going the barrier to entry. People are not going to find a new platform with a currency they know nothing about and don't really trust and put money into it, if they don't have much. It is much more likely that people will get excited, start earning something and then want to put a portion of their salary in etc bit by bit. Big investors won't even move the tokens to the platform most likely a lot of the times as they don't have the time to post/ engage.
I was this exact way. I was and am skeptical on crypto. I joined Steem when Bitcoin was hitting the absurd 20K level briefly. I did so because it was FREE to join and earn. I never would be in anything crypto to this day had it not been for that free entry. It didn't take long for me to understand the economics of it and decide to invest a little, but none of that would have happened if not it being free.
When I came to Blurt, the first thing i noticed is the majority of users are in economically depressed countries. The last thing they have is money to invest, they are here desperate for some relief and praying they can find it here. Having nothing to invest, unless they find benefactors or can somehow scrape a little which to them is a lot to put in for initial funding, they are excluded. My concern is it makes those able to scrape enough to get the ball rolling fewer now that the costs necessary are greater.
As for big investors, we need to understand most have no desire to blog. I've been pitching for some time we should understand they have value as well and design a system that is desirable for their investment without needing to be bloggers or curators.
Same for me I joined steemit, it was totally free and I even worked for a Blockchain company after that. But my entry point was steemit and I probably never would have stayed had it not been free to join and post.
I think it’s ok big investors don’t want to blog we still need them I guess I’m just saying they are not the mindset we are looking for. Blurt needs regular users and creatives to get into it like I did back in 2017 on steemit and think wow This is really cool I want more. I think the three dollar in crypto sign up is a big block as new people have to go away to learn about opening up a crypto account and probably forget to come back.
Cause even for my friends who are not badly off they can’t afford three dollars it’s jsut an extra process to put them off. I don’t even mind sending them the 3 dollars but they still need a wallet etc. I feel that once they start earning and posting it’s much easier for them to be pushed to learn more about crypto.
I think it’s easy to forget what it’s like as a newbie because we have been in it a while but most don’t trust crypto right away and just have no idea how it works it doesn’t mean they won’t get heavily involved down the line with a motivation to learn.

Dude. You are so wrong.
Higher Fees means Burning more blurt. … less blurt means higher prices.
what the hell does that have to do with stopping plagiarism ?
Obviously it has nothing to do with the issue being discussed. One is about plagiarism, the other an argument that scarcity MIGHT lead to higher valuation.
Please stop spamming my comment section or I'll begin thinking you are a perfect candidate for the COAL list.
Not a fan of LogicZombie doing this either, but at least in their case they are addressing different users. All of your is the same comment to the same person.
