When the proof of stake is leading. By brains, I mean proof of brain. So, if the proof of brain is not that supported, or less supported, it could hurt some brains.

In a true freedom landscape, if proof of brain is what folks want wouldn't that be the draw for support? I ask this in all seriousness as one who largely supports proof of brain, or perhaps one could call it proof of energy. I find so many posts filled with energy and brain that I find it difficult to vote for it all as it is.

Me too, that is why it's taken me so long to review all these comments. I unleashed a can of something....my goodness.

Yes you did, although as I said I've spent so much time on this subject over the last year or so I've grown tired of repeating the same stances, lol.

I'll repeat them for you next time. Your time, effort, and understanding of these topics is highly valuable and appreciated here.

Yeah, that's true, it's so hard to vote for them all. But at least we should value them, just like we value money. Maybe it's hard to do for some people, but we should do that. We all want good for blurt after all. We just don't want to see investors coming and seeing those empty pages trending. They don't even have comments on them. I don't think that investors will be interested in that. We are just different. If you think that upvote bot will attract investors, you have the right to think so. I'll never agree with that. Anyway, we will live and see if that's correct to support or not. The price after a year will show us.

It was conceded back when the original push to ban upvu was made and the foundation made a compromise that they would only at that time block new delegations. That if the ban would include returning the current delegations to their owners would result in a sell off which would tank the price. Upvu coming here did play a role in the upward movement in value as investors came solely to use their service.

At that same time, the coal list was reactivated as one of the main focuses of complaint was they were supporting stolen work.

Once they became coal compliant the next wave of attack against them began.

But from their harshest critics (c-time and double-u) it was acknowledged in that post by double-u in their agreement not to tank the price that these investors had indeed played a role in the higher valuation.

I don't have time to look it up, and honestly I grow weary of defending personal property rights. I think after today I'm just going to step back and if the chain decides to no longer respect the rights then I'll know how to proceed from there. I've been involved for it seems a year discussing this, my points all being the same the entire time.

It seems so easy to understand that there is room here for both investors and investor/bloggers. Both hats bringing value to the chain.

As an example of this, I spend easily 20+ hours a week since coming here. I fully understand why many investors don't even have a fraction of this kind of time to devote to this. Hell, today alone I've spent like 3+ hours on here already.

I don't wish the time sink to be an impediment for those who would add value by investment if it didn't demand a time sink.

So in response to we will see, we already have, some time back.

I think the effect will be seen in the long term. When for months only empty posts will be trending. I guess most of us are talking about the long term game. And it's up to big players to decide, if this will be accepted, and you will need mostly those types of investors. Or you'll need real content creators, who are investors at the same time. Because I don't think that all investors are the same. Some are here only for money, others for freedom, others see it a good community. So, after all I see that the stake will decide the game. After all, most crypto turned to proof of stake, what killed mostly the proof of brain. But I'm glad we still have it at least here.

I need to make an observation on this.

In all my time on social blockchain, I've always felt that trending and hot were crap. And in no way has that impeded the values and adoption. I quickly learned that in order to have any semblance of quality that reflects my own interests and mind, I have to go to the effort of finding and collecting these folks and placing them in my follow feed. It has never not been this way in all my time on social blockchain.

This is a naturally occurring process as unless one is proactive in seeking out like minds, they will never be found and their posts as a newcomer will be lost like a needle in a haystack.

It's the same thing in self publishing, just the way it works.

Overall as I say a lot, those of us who are building communities will in the long run have more rewards that most who are here only to invest. By nature those who don't upvote others or only a small percentage will be shunned by those who do value those connections.

I'd upvote this. But I just bled out all my power on myself! haha kidding, on others.
You share some very valid points and I thank you for taking the time to do so.

When I log onto blurt, I have it set to go right to my feed. So I never see the trending page. Is it possible for the foundation...I mean the founders to have someone just recreate the tending page, based of comments. So post like this with the most engagement can come showoff ummmm.... how engaging the platform is. I think that would not only look good, it would be interesting to new comers checking out the site for the first time.

I mentioned to ultravioletmag a little time ago that if one looks at trending on my friend Freakeao front end Blurtlatam it looks a little different than blurt blot.

https://blurtlatam.com/trending/

So it seems to me that the front ends (who own the front end) can design one that would reflect what they would wish to see as trending without violating anyone elses property rights. They could for example perhaps have a rule in that those who self vote or delegate to a VTS don't get on trending. Although I do think that would push some quality posts out. I mentioned earlier that Oldstone writes some fantastic stuff. I vote for him on t he rare occasions my feed is low. He would actually be part of my feed if he didn't delegate to upvu.

It seems so easy to understand that there is room here for both investors and investor/bloggers. Both hats bringing value to the chain.

If this is a sustainable truth, and it's not possible for upvu to grow like a cancer and taking things over, than I don't have a problem with upvu. But the trending page is simply bad for business and something should be done about it, to me that seems pretty obvious.

As a side note, lets not burn ourselves out here. At times I feel the hours going by on this place and I'm like...I think I'm enjoying myself...and sometime I feel like I need to step back. There is nothing wrong with that.

I do this for a few reasons. The main one is because it allows someone who is piss poor like myself to help others in a way not possible in the real world.

Years ago, one of my first posts I read on Steem was by a young man in Africa. He was posting a thank you post to share how blessed he was. He was able to buy a new pair of shoes and eat at a restaurant with is friends. because of his earnings on Steem. His life before Steem was one where one doesn't own new shoes or eat in a restaurant.

In my time at Steem. I was able to help many others, especially once I connected with Canbadian-Cocanut and her family protection project. It brought awareness to government kidnapping and child trafficking through CPS/foster care, and even better, helped to pay for food and diapers and utilities and such to some of our poorer families being targeted. They usually target poor families, which means in many cases single mothers because they don't have the resources to fight the childs kidnapping.

The second reason which is still huge is I've hated being enslaved since a young man. I've made many choices that have financially put me in a bad rut. I believe Blurt can be a door out of this possibly.

I think Blurt can be a way out for many of us. And with the added bonus that it allows a respect of speech and property. That last part alone is worth supporting as it's become increasingly difficult to speak openly or have ones property not have rules and limitations added atop them.

But yeah, I feel burnt out right now. Partially this new stupid job I have. I'm not faring so well at it, and actually had to call out last night (my first full week on the job). My body is broken and my mind sleep deprived, lol.

Please take care of yourself first. If that means stepping away from here for bit to catch up on rest, then please do so. Even though this blurt has become highly addicting ;).

As I just commented before, the enlightening information you sharing here is remarkable and I thank you for that. I guess my big mouth has caused some good in terms of all this uncovering of valuable information and I thank you again for sharing it.
