Huh ? Blurt won’t be scrapped. It is headed for $1 .... I’m buying all the a Blurt I can buy on Hive-Engine.... huge sale

Did you read the links I posted? I admit I'm ignorant of crypto, and perhaps its showing in my not getting something here. But when he says Blurt 1 coins will be gone and we will get an equal percentage (not coins) in Blurt 2 coins, and that it will be run on something called Cosmos instead of Graphene how is it the same coin and chain? Especially confusing for me when he states that posts might not migrate (I went back and reread now as I thought it said for sure it wouldn't).

Hi @practicalthought, so this latest attack on Blurt is a long series of speedbumps that has hindered our progress, unfortunately, there are too many malicious actors in the Graphene development community and does not make sense to keep adding code upgrades to Graphene for the benefit of malicious parties. Cosmos has huge advantages, they have a massive developer base whereas graphene is very niche and only a handful of developers know how to build on it. They also have a DEX - IBC where all Cosmos based tokens can be listed, they have a foundation and funding and an investor network. Did you know that the Binance token BNB is based on Cosmos?

So the path is clear, however we have not fully assessed how we will do the transition, a couple of things remain up for debate and evaluation.

  1. Do we keep the Blurt name and simply port balances across of active users who have used Blurt since the initial airdrop and wind down the Graphene version.

  2. Or do we keep Blurt as graphene and leave the community to maintain it and start something with a new name and airdrop on active Blurt users, thereby creating airdrop hype for Blurt.

  3. Posts may or may not be ported across depending on which route we take and the complexity there of, it isn't too hard for people to simply repost their old stuff for historical purposes and even earn from posting the content again, I think the post history is the smallest of the topics under discussion.

Please bear with us while we devise a strategy, but be rest assured that our strategy will be for the benefit of the users of Blurt.

Interesting info.

Will the date of the 'snapshot' be announced, when the old Blurt balance will converted into the balance of the new Blurt network? I might think of investing a little bit again, even if I was not really convinced if you on Blurt will be able to curb spam or plagiarism without the flag option ... Lets say I think Blurt was/is interesting but I was /am not fully convinced yet.

Concerning the name, I think I would change it ... I never liked the name Blurt (and the logo) to be honest. Just seek a really cool new name! :) What about (ant/blockchain) colony? :)

...it isn't too hard for people to simply repost their old stuff for historical purposes and even earn from posting the content again ...

That was one reason not to be very active on Blrt: my old STEM/HIVE posts were lost there ... But, well it would be an option to post at least the most important old posts again ...

Thank you for taking the time to come here and answer. I don't do Discord, which has always left me out of the loop on Steemit/Hive as it seems most of the big shots on those chains expect you to seek them out for an audience there. It is humbling to have one of the co-founders not only see my post being I'm new here, but actually responding. At best I was hopeful for someone in the know might have come along and known something.

I appreciate your explanation has no tone of defensiveness. Instead focusing on facts and possible paths forward. The words one chooses and how they construct them often reveal much more than the person wielding them realizes. Your matter of fact statements help ease my anxiety a little.

I don't understand much regarding programming and crypto, having been drawn into this during the last bubble as Steemit afforded an entry without even needing to mess with exchanges. I've since used them a few times although I still get nervous and still shy away from them. I imagine there are many in this corner (social) of crypto who are equally as ignorant as myself. As the future becomes clearer for yourself and the others leading the way, please take note of my questions regarding keys and such for new accounts with airdrops. To be fair though, I don't understand how they are stored to begin with that they can be cloned yet not compromised.

Thanks again for responding.

Please just let me know if you have any additional questions, and reply to this comment with them directly. Thank you.

Regarding exchanges, we have a good relationship with Ionomy and they have already indicated they will support the listings of all chains that @jacobgadikian and I will build together in future. Whether we create a second token or simply just migrate the Blurt token to a new platform, Ionomy will support us. There has not been much volume on Stex and Beldex so I probably wouldn't list there again. Probit has been okay, the migration or new listing would likely apply there.

Hive Engine can be integrated, just need someone to be willing to run a gateway.

Awesome. This part really eases my mind a lot. I know many use HiveEngine, but I never liked needing to give them or Steemconnect my keys, so never used them. I like Ionomy as I get to keep my keys separate. The less I need to use my active key the less chance of a mistake.
