Point taken - for the second time the RPC servers have gone at about the same time of day, a time when few devs are awake. Maybe I'll post a quick post in the future, more likely as @rycharde. The urgency is always to fix a problem, and those on Discord are told the basics. It is also interesting how the manifestations of the chain - the websites and wallets - can be disrupted without the chain itself suffering. Although not everyone may wish to access the chain directly with their CLI, it is worth knowing as an extra investigation to know that nothing serious has happened. At the very least to see the chain blocks being produced as per normal, even tho relaying that info to the websites has problems.

Although if there are real problems posting then one can't even post a post about the problems of posting.
Hence the alt channels such as discord, twattr etc.

BTW glad to see you calling out the protocol of hypocrisy, to firmly point the finger away from oneself.
The only important function is how stake turns into rewards.
In a linear economy with linear rewards and linear curation it makes no difference if you play with yourself or get someone else to do it for you. ;-)
In a non-linear economy it would make a difference as higher stakes can generate even higher rewards.
I have also run "fair" voting-tokens - fair in the sense that the returns were positive and algorithmic - I had no need to con investors, I just had to calculate the algo, and have been running these for some 4 years. But the profitability was based both on the non-linear curve and the curation-rewards-optimisation, neither of which apply here on Blurt.

BTW glad to see you calling out the protocol of hypocrisy, to firmly point the finger away from oneself.

Sadly not many will do this, because they all want to feed at the teat of those size wallets. Which ironically in some cases is a larger demonstration of greed harming the larger picture than some random person with 1000 Blurt using a VTS, hahahaha.

I needed this laugh a lot, thanks.

My thoughts on this is there is an official Twitter, where one doesn't need an account and to log in to view.

It also was shown in my screenshots that one of the front ends appeared to still be working somehow, one ran by a developer. That same developer was on at that time because he posted under his tech project. I think if he was capable of doing that he could have put up a quick announcement, which in my opinion was of more value to the community.

I need to understand how one accesses a chain through this CLI you are talking about. Do you have any videos you would recommend for someone as tech ignorant as myself to watch?

I had all those things happen to me too except one other weird thing. 100blurt disappeared from my upvotes on one of my latest posts (not paid out yet). I know it was there before because it was the highest score I'd had up to now. I realise it could have been someone taking back some of their vote but it seems like too much of a coincidence besides no-one could do anything like that at the time. I couldn't post, comment, collect funds nothing.
Apart from that yes it was very worrying as I have everything staked in Blurt too.
I would like to know what exactly has occurred here too.
PS totally agree with you on the crap posters, I'm on the lookout for good people to follow too and finding it a hard slog. You can't even search for specific people on here I've found and very little to catch my eye in the new feed so if you know of someone I'd like let me know.

Sorry to hear about the 100 Blurt disappearing. I looked on ecosynthesizer and couldn't find anything in the way of a vote being taken back. You appear at this time to be the only person who lost out on a vote. I wonder if it was cast while the chain was undergoing the issues and somehow wasn't properly recorded.

It does narrow it down though if it was only one vote, as very few on Blurt have the ability to give a 100 Blurt vote.

I'm not sure if you will like these blogs or not, but these might interest you.

This next guy doesn't post often here, but i used to follow him on Steem. He is a naturalist and sometimes I find he writes some pretty fantastic posts one wouldn't expect to see.

This next person also doesn't post much here, and in fact i warned him if he didn't start interacting here I would quit supporting him. But he has some fantastic writeups just the same.

Thanks for the shutout....i lost 505 blurt in the move over and still no resolve to this....sad to pay for something and have it gone...
I’ll have a look at those other blogs as well.
Cheers

I will help you get that back with a post, and make you the sole beneficiary, not a problem.

Cheers. What would you like me to do...?

Nothing, the payout will auto go to you, not me. That is a beauty feature on here.

coolio...

  ·  3 years ago  ·   (edited)

How did you lose the 505? If it was from the move from Blurt to was SwapBlurt you should do a post here on it and see if the folks will help you recover it via upvotes as @ajerkoff did. I believe it was @megadrive who suggested doing this to him as a means to recover. The Blurt community is very generous and you would probably see it recovered quickly.

Wicked thanks mate i have been trying to keep up with posting and life so making a post asking the community was not the first thing that came to mind. I wanted it to be in swap.blurt so i could help other start their accounts as i have already for a few people. Tried to send Blurt to Swap and it did not work months ago….

I have no idea about the technical side, I just wanted to help. The payout goes to you, Karma is a superb thing, what goes around comes around.

Cheers thanks for this...it all come back around as it does again and again.
Let me know if i can help you in some way...;-)

I normally never tag, but knew if I tagged you that you would help this person. They post some funny truth memes and I'm hopeful that they will gain more traction here as time goes on too.

Thank you for stepping in. I'll of course toss upvotes on the post once created and i have full voting power to max the vote.

Tomorrow bud, I like helping people, it costs nothing to do :-)

It was just gone from my wallet...Held in HiveEngine as Blurt and now just gone. i have records of it and now it is not in HE wallet. Not transferred to Swap.Blurt, too bad cus that i how i would have liked to keep it for a while.
Cheers ill have a look at making a post about it...Thanks for the shutout.

Thanx two I already followed but have added the others.
Re the missing 100 blurt, yes it was defo there the day before the crash and gone after almost or maybe exactly 100 blurt from the Carry On post. maybe I'll never know what happened.

If you don't mind using a translator, this person writes some awesome posts as well. I think they are from Poland.

@khrom

no I do enough translating for now and wouldn't know what to look at as can't read the titles either.

Here is another one I just saw in my feed I forgot about.

https://blurt.blog/@josua1

have him already too. Thanx.

Thank you for taking the time to highlight these issues - I also noticed that my wallet was missing around 60,000 blurt - and I was unable to upvote anyone. Unfortunately, I was on my way out the door - and didn't have easy access to the net for the rest of the day/evening. After checking the official feed on twitter - I was also left thinking it was just me, and that I'd been hacked.

Bang on the money about the shit posters - none of us are owed anything, and if you can't be bothered to put in the effort and take some pride in your work, then why should anyone take the effort to read and upvote what you've written?

I'm also a strong advocate for people using their stake as they see fit - none of my business.

Seems there might still be small hiccups this morning. I've had many failed transactions, some requiring me to submit 3 or 4 times.

I was also left thinking it was just me, and that I'd been hacked.

I saw that most were affected, and thought it was a larger hack of some sort. There was an attack at the beginning of last year, that based on the methods suggested to me Bernie was involved. They posted thousands of pictures of genitalia, to the point it was messing up the chain with information overload. That was his signature stamp many times when someone he was targeting at the time commented on my posts.

Glad to see another advocate for private property and minding ones own business. :)

There was an attack at the beginning of last year, that based on the methods suggested to me Bernie was involved.

I wasn't aware that he did that on here - but I do remember a similar campaign on #steemit - where he was targeting Lindsay. Strange bloke - definitely some kind of personality disorder going on. I've often wondered whether he's incognito as one of the players over on #hive - couple of the phrases and terms I've picked up on. Equally, I'm far too busy to really care - especially now I've found #blurt. :)

Yes, she was one of many that supported me and commented often on my blogs. He would troll her mercilessly, even creating a troll account that changed her name into a sexual act. He would even attack her children.

I gave up on Hive a long time ago. Just quietly powered down there it seems like closing in on two years now and left.

And made my home here at Blurt, where one doesn't need be afraid of flag punishments for what they say, or for that matter lack of civility. The folks here are much nicer.

Yeah, I wrote my last post there 18 months ago -and have just finished powering down. Although I will probably make a final post, highlighting that I'm now on #blurt.

I went through same issues, couldn't see my blogs of over two months and my wallet value changed as well. Luckily, things are back and better now.

On the other hand, I appreciate your unwavering commitment to speaking out for the small mass of those who may not be heard because of the "smallness" of their voting power.

I talked about this before, but whatever someone wants, is what they want and they hardly budge from their high horses. So I don't talk anymore.

We basically should allow all and sundry come in, probably when we grow larger, certain better and more designs to help fight spam can come up.

Thank you for your kind thoughts.

If a social platform is to be successful, the real value in our community rests not in wallet size, but quality size. I find it unsettling that some who can be viewed as greedy are attacking others who they call out for being greedy, more so when others jump on that bandwagon. In many cases out of greed as well because they want those sweet fat upvotes, and are willing to discard logic if they must to obtain them.

I talked about this before, but whatever someone wants, is what they want and they hardly budge from their high horses. So I don't talk anymore.

Please don't allow any on their high horses to dissuade you from exercising your voice. Regardless of the size of your wallet, or the size of your community you are a stakeholder here, with as much right to give voice to your positions as the largest stakeholder or those with large followings. We reveal ourselves to others when we are willing to walk our truth regardless of how unpopular it may appear, and I would submit that at times appearances can be very deceiving. Often others will remain docile until someone else first acts.

I'll share an example.

Many years ago I was selling at the swap meet. There were two old men, and one of them had his two very large sons with him. They were in the aisle behind mine, and I had a clear view of them.

The old men were arguing, which caught my interest. After a moment, one of the large sons pushed the other old man. By the time I ran over to intervene a large crowd had already formed. Without slowing down, I grabbed that large man as I swept his feet from under him, knowing from my training the ground will hit your opponent harder than you can. Especially as in this case when my weight is atop him.

Based on the seeming cowardice of that crowd, none of whom were coming to the aid of the old man, I expected his brother to kick me, perhaps in the head even as I was exposed at this point.

To my surprise, several men in the crowd rushed forward. Some grabbing the brother before he could move on me, a couple coming to me to make sure the one I rode to the ground wasn't getting up, although he wasn't going anywhere. And we held them until the police came.

I remember being very angry with that crowd of cowards at that time. hatred burning in my heart that so many so called men would stand by and allow an old man to be handled in such a way by much larger and younger man.

In hindsight (I still have anger at them) though, it occurred to me that this is people in general. Most unwilling to be the initial stand against wrong, but willing to step forward as they see another and then others do so.

None of this is predicated on ones financial worth, or circle of friends or education etc. It all comes down to having the will to go against the crowd when they are wrong. And understanding that there is a chance others in that crowd of inaction might not only align with what you are doing, but be prompted to action once you have initiated it.

We all have much more power than we are taught, the so called masters training the masses to keep their heads down and not cause waves. Because sticking your head above the crowd challenges the idea of so called masters, as one with their head up high is declaring equality with the proclaimed masters and it emboldens others to do the same.

100% THIS

That's the beauty of this system once the flags are taken away and you have a foundation and enough witnesses that believe in property rights. No matter how many begin picking up stones to throw in their glass houses they don't get to coerce their way into the limitations of action they would impose on the rest. Especially when their own actions in many cases such as this are almost identical in intent and outcome.

We each can choose what to do with our stake here, as it is our stake. Despite that, I'm tired of what comes across to me as bullying and shunning, especially as it's initiated from a position of hypocrisy. I hate coercion, which is where this has traveled since the failed attempt at forcing a few months ago and the vote didn't go their way.

If others are so concerned with how stake that doesn't belong to them is being used, then perhaps since they can't exert control here like a dictator, they should instead analyze the ways their own use can be criticized by purists and work on cleaning up those actions.

Or, they could do the preferable thing and just mind their own business and focus on themselves. 😇

This problem still occurs today, even though this morning it was running normally. Even though I've tried changing the RPC Mode, it still can't be accessed properly, the blog's response is very slow, I can't even see my profile photos and other users. Hope all the issues get resolved quickly and if it's true as you say someone should be held responsible, especially the losses suffered by the users.

https://blurt.blog/blurtlatam/@djunmul/tips-for-troubleshooting-node-blog-blurt-access-api-rpc

Many thanks. I edited my post to reflect I did in fact get my wallet restored to where it should be. After examining my screenshots it appears that whatever happened, the wallet was rolled back 3 months as well.

I would still hope that there will be some communication when the chain is undergoing issues such as this. Leaving us to wonder if there has been a hack is not professional, especially when one is seeing large amounts of Blurt disappear from their wallet. They have an official Twitter and Git account and seems someone could take 3 minutes to post something to the community.

Appreciate the link to your tutorial.

I feel like this is falling on deaf ears, but it is a bad look for a social blockchain to not communicate through official channels that there is a problem, and the continued silence on what is going on is concerning as well.

I noticed the same issue with being redirected to Tekraze. I also did not like that. I am a very quiet type and will make sure no one is going to try to lie, or create a narrative about this before I respond with an objective truth.

I expected some hiccups and currently think this was lag or some kind of latency issue. Having mined a lot of different algorithms from 2014 to now, I an appreciate how unexpected some issues are.

The difference between 100-200 milliseconds when mining blocks for bitcoin can be staggering in the payout. Perhaps there is a simple explanation like one of the witnesses missed a critical block.

Is the 70k back in your wallet now?

Is the 70k back in your wallet now?

Yes, my apologies for not being clearer on that. I was tired when I wrote this and can assure you if it had not been the tone of this post would have been very different. I added an edit to the top of my post to clarify now that I understand I wasn't clear enough on this.

Yes, I expect things to have bumps at times, but this lack of letting us know is growing tiresome. They have an official Twitter, and somehow one of the devs had a working front end when EVERYTHING else was broken. He even posted for his tech club during this time, yet no announcement there was any issues at all. I don't understand why/how a social blockchain which is predicated on the idea of communication provides zero communication when something as drastic as what happened here takes place. I was quite panicked to see such a large sum just disappear from my wallet with no acknowledgement anything was wrong.

In hindsight after examining my many screenshots it appears somehow the wallet was also rolled back three months.

Mi estimado amigo, algunos problemas con los rpc principales que llevaron al sitio blurt.blog a estar fuera de servicio. Con respecto al que yo administro le hare algunas mejoras con el fin de poder contar con una mejor opcion de mercado para los blurtter.

My dear friend, some problems with the main rpc's that led to the blurt.blog site being down. With respect to the one that I manage, I will make some improvements in order to have a better market option for the blurtter.

Hubo algunos problemas importantes.

It was some major problems. I'm still unsure how Tekraze was able to keep his site running as every other app was unable to, and then as mentioned the wallet had almost a third of my Blurt disappear out of it at one point. I was very concerned, and made more so as there was no official annuncement anywhere on what was going on. The redirect last night made me sure there was a hack as I was being redirected to something called Blurtlive, a url I've never heard of before.

For our main usage to be a social blockchain which in essence is one of communication, the communication on these matters suck. No announcement on the official Twitter feed, no announcement (still not one as of yet) on the front ends. At one point yesterday I was thinking my entire wallet was somehow going to be emptied out which I didn't understand how as there is a 4 week powerdown. But it was disappearing from my wallet as you can see from the screenshot. It's back now, but yes, I was nervous yesterday.

That's right. Important information has not been disseminated in the best way. Something that seems to be a constant every time this happens, I have not published, nor have I been immersed in all these situations partly because of the message I answered you previously, I am still analyzing my role in all this and on the other hand my internet provider has kept me away from everything. An imperative failure that I barely manage to connect.

that unfollow thing I had a weird issue with that back when I was on hive though I went to check someones page ( ura soul) who's posts I liked and I found I had blocked them, I absolutely never would have blocked them. I found it very strange and I guess wrote it off that I clicked it in error but I really don't think I could have done that.

Posted from https://blurt.live

I think it might have been more nefarious at Hive. I know several folks from when I first joined whose active and master keys no longer work after they had a lengthy absence, but their posting keys still did.

Here it appears to be some kind of break in the front end. I can always tell when I probably wont be able to vote or comment because it will claim I have no followers and am not following anyone. I realized this the other day as its happened a couple of times now since I made this post.

Hope you have a better solution very soon....
Now, I want to warn and inform about a user., I am not mentioning his name for the sake of discipline. I found out through my looking brother that he is a hacker, and some users have been hacked by him. He is also active in Blurt. However, he claimed that his ID had been hacked.
I don’t know he is good or bad. But i would recommend staying free from such traps. We want to concern about this issue.

You might wish to tell one of the witnesses so they can add this person to the COAL list if they aren't already there. Odds are if they were hacked there they have been hacked here as well.

Has the LEOFINANCE folks issued any statements on this?

Sorry. I don't know if the LEOFINANCE have issued a statement on this. Actually i don’t know about LEOFINANCE.
Have a good day...

Sadly , microcosm macrocosm is a harsh reality ...

Yes me too my whole account bugged , i tried to remove a witness who is off
@Pixelwide but the whole thing went A-wire

@praticalthought, Oh , now I know better . I kept wondering how the whole senario changed . The last i knew , I was following you and the other way too , when I saw another notification of you following me again , I knew they was trouble and I really pondered .
With your post now , I understand clearly the challenges that occurred !
I hope things got back to normalcy . Well done for the courage .

I'm glad things appear to be resolving themselves. I didn't want to miss anything you or michelangelo3 might post, so instead of waiting I paid the small fee to refollow you again. I was concerned that you might think I had unfollowed you, as it would be to time consuming to go back through all of my many transactions to verify I hadn't.

Am most honored!! It’s the greatest pleasure following you . Have learnt a lot since I started reading your stuffs . They have inspired me greatly .
Thanks for your sincere efforts to make sure that you kept me within your space .

Last night I also had a very hard time accessing my Blurt wallet.

I think that's a natural thing.

There may be a fix in the system.

I didn't think that far about the Blurt wallet hacker.

I will follow this discussion. So that I can better understand what happened.
