Hello, fellow Blurtians!

Blurt, a blockchain platform born from the Steemit.com ecosystem, often remains a hidden gem for many users from Steemit and Hive. In addition to a communication and marketing problem, it's also partly due to access to the data used as a benchmark is not easily available, as another post I read 2 days ago shows. This time it's @offgridlife's post How many Blurt Blogs are there ? Over 1.24 Million

Note: This post was started over 2 weeks ago with the intention of further development, but due to time constraints, I've decided to share it in its current form hahaha. Some of the questions raised here were also addressed in @justyy's recent post How many accounts on STEEM blockchain? and its discussion with @offgridlife in the comments of this post.

So I put on my best Blurt developer shirt, my Blurt blockchain witness tie and my analyst lab coat to dive deep, right into the heart of my database parsing Blurt blockchain blocks in real time for answers.

So the questions of the day are:

  • How many Blurt blogs
  • How many Blurt Blog posts
  • How many Active Blurt bloggers
    ...

Today, I’m excited to share some fascinating data that sheds light on our vibrant ecosystem.

Total Number of Blurt Accounts:

Blurt boasts a staggering 1,396,169 accounts, including those from the pre-fork era. This number not only reflects the platform's reach but also underscores its growing community. πŸš€

Active Blogs and Posts

Since its inception, Blurt has seen 7,480 active blogs, with bloggers publishing a total of 656,557 posts. This active engagement highlights the platform's dynamic nature and the diverse range of content it hosts. πŸ“

Engagement Metrics

The platform has facilitated 796,104 comments, showcasing a vibrant community that actively interacts with content creators. Additionally, 7,016,440 upvotes have been distributed, indicating a supportive and engaged user base. πŸ‘

Rewards Distribution

Blurt has distributed a total of 100,777,372.757 BLURT to its users since its inception. This includes 48,836,006.769 BLURT through authors' rewards, 1,740,169.428 BLURT through beneficiaries' rewards, and 50,201,196.56 BLURT through curators' rewards. πŸ’°

BLURT Transfers

To date, 436,003,029.175 BLURT has been exchanged through 336,628 transfers, including transactions with crypto exchanges. This indicates a robust ecosystem where BLURT is actively traded and utilized. πŸ’±

Conclusion

Blurt is not just a platform; it's a thriving community with vast potential. As we delve into these numbers, it becomes evident that Blurt is more than just a sleeping giantβ€”it's a platform ready to awaken and make its mark in the world of decentralized social media. Let's continue to explore, engage, and unlock the full potential of Blurt together.

How to support my work on Blurt

  • Backing my Witness:

It only takes a click since you're entitled to 30 witness governance votes with your Blurt account. Even if I'm already in the top 20 and it won't generate more BLURT for me, it will secure my position, and it's always appreciated.

thanks as always for sharing this valuable information, one question related to the communities; how many users might be actively posting in the communities? how many posts are made in the communities vs. not in the communities? Regards

Thank you very much. This is very useful Information. I know that when I mention Blurt.blog on Steemit people are very surprised to learn that they have a Blurt.blog already set up … including lots of $$$$ via the Fork from Steemit in 2020…. They are very happy about this and start blogging on both Blurt and Steemit. Earning $$$$ on both Platforms.

Thank you so much for sharing this data with us.
Btw, I've always wondered if we can upvote posts that are older than 7 days? Will the author and the person who upvote still get the reward?

You can upvote posts that are more than 7 days old, but neither the author nor the curator will receive any rewards, this just uses your voting power. It's the same on Hive and Steem.

Thank you for your explanation.

Just a correction there. Voting on a paid out post doesn't use any voting power, but it does incur a transaction fee.
