Whoever must have come up with this saying Old is Gold must have been one experienced person in life.
Opposite my building there are a lot of food joints, some of them old and some of them new. The old ones are serving traditional Omani, Turkish & Indian cuisines whereas the new ones are more into fancier brands of today's time, the fast foods types. At any given time if I see the old ones are always crowded, whereas the new ones hardly have any public.
There is one Turkish cuisine food joint which is always crowded, because over a period of time they have become so famous, of course for the quality of food they serve, that people prefer to get food from there than any other place. In the lockdowns, the home deliveries are allowed, and these people have a big line of delivery guys waiting to pick up food.
Their famous dishes are kebabs, shawarma, falafel, these are all famous turkish cuisine. When we came to this place, everyone would tell us, you should visit the Turkish joint, and I was really wondering what is so special about it. But when I had their food, I could completely agree with everyone's praises. Their food is fresh and delicious. Not only that, it is healthy also, since most of their food is grilled, so no use of oil and not very spicy too.
These are the old Turkish joints, last night the lockdowns opened up so there was a lot of rush. I guess people were eagerly waiting to visit.
This is the new food court, almost empty, despite of the lockdown opening up, there are hardly any people going there.
You can see both of them together also, the old one is thriving, whereas the new one is struggling.
I feel people also prefer to go with the old taste rather than the new ones. This is just opposite my home so for me it's convenient to do home order also any time. Though I do not do it often because I do not prefer to eat outside food much, whenever I order their food I do relish it a lot. Truly this one proves the saying Old is Gold.
