Ranjith Premasiri of Wickramasinghe Hitihamila
Born in Pallama Madalana, a remote area of Puttalam district to parents Jayasuriya and Angus Rita, Ranjith has a family of six brothers and sisters. After completing his primary education at Anamaduwa Madalana College, Ranjith worked in two jobs and decided to join the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Brigade at the age of 22 with the blessings of his parents.
Diyatalawa Army Training School
On February 12, 1991, when the LTTE terrorist conflicts were very intense, Ranjith entered the Diyatalawa Army Training School and after successfully completing the basic military course, he was assigned to the 5th Battalion of the Gajaba Regiment.
Due to his skills on the battlefield, Ranjith was able to complete many different courses and since he had met all the qualifications on the battlefield, Ranjith joined the Diyathalawa "Professional Marksman Training School" and successfully completed course number 8. In the year 2000, he joined the battlefield as a sniper soldier, nicknamed Nero. in the name of Each soldier who successfully completes sniper training is then identified by a unique short signal name.
In the meantime, Nero is working to successfully complete the Special Forces Trafalin, Master Marksman Instructor, Basic Parachute, Unit Shooter Training Course and Basic Pistol Course related to his profession.
