Usually, in southern India, people use raw bananas as a vegetable. Banana is cultivated or grown in almost 135 countries. Banana requires fertile soil and a warm or humid climate to grow. India is number one in the production or cultivation of bananas, followed by China at number two. And there are more than 1000 varieties of bananas are there in the world, and 20 of them are grown in India.
In India, Tamil Nadu is the highest producer of bananas. The top varieties of bananas in India are Provan, Rasthali, Karpuravalli, etc. Banana is one of the most sacred or religious fruits which is offered to Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi. Banana leaves are also usable and even used in many states of India for cooking, wrapping, and for food serving because they are waterproof, flexible, and big.
Banana is consumed in many different ways, direct eating after peeling off its upper layer, used in making juices or shakes, and also eaten after cooking as cakes, chips, sweets, etc. It is rich in vitamins A, B, and C that it contains many minerals like magnesium, potassium, sodium, calcium, iron, etc. which are helpful for the development of the body.
