Today I became aware of a huge problem with mass plagiarism on Steemit and Hive.
I realize there are tools to punish and stop any known plagiarists. Good or bad tools, I can't tell but they still are available there.
What happens if/when Blurt becomes a playground to such persons? Is there a way for the Blurt community to protect itself from this or other bad practices?
I hope there is. I have no idea though...
I think that a bot that provides a message about the content possibly being plagiarised would be nice. That way people could see the message before voting on the post and adjust accordingly. If the content really was rightfully posted it gives the author of the post the chance to make things right. (By removing the post, adding bylines, or explaining that they made the original.)
I don't think we should get much more complicated about how we try to police the issue. (At least at this point with the present value of Blurt)
That sounds like a great workaround. It will allow for a user to apologize and to be then put off the bot list.
Bringing the bots topic up, what if the plagiarist subscribes to an upvoting service here? I guess s/he would simply don't care about all the noise.
I would say that an upvoting service that knowing upvotes plagiarised content should be boycotted. I would hope that a good upvoting service would have some type of quality standards for the posts they vote for and refund funds for posts that do not meet their criteria. I would think that in general such a service would be more profitable and popular in the community.

i remember the steemitpolice acted once.
sometimes they acted wrong and banned people who wrote and posted their own stuff.
but i agree with you. Blurb is the HOME of plagiarism.
same i see in the Noise.cach posts
What makes me sad is people generally spend their time in vain. Instead of creating something new and beautiful, they prefer to rob others. It is easier to create.
The Devil rules this world...
you're so right.
and I hate to put watermarks on my works. just never did and never will do
Not that watermarks stop the abusers :D
I've seen people spending hours removing all the logos of a stock agency from a photo, instead of purchasing it for a dollar or two.
Lately, I believe this is just a decease. There are people who just can't live without stealing something.
agree with you...
А зачем? Плагиат - это повторение, повторение - мать учения))) Пусть себе руминируют.
Hahaha. Sometimes I think I should simply take the "I don't give a shit" approach.
Indeed. Let them petty souls spend their time in vain.
As far as I know, posting is paid here. Where does so much plagiarism come from? Let them spend, what do you care about that?
I just hate that, honestly. Also, it's not fair. Photography is what I do for a living.
Then someone from the other side of the world just takes it, even without a simple thanks. Not to mention they profit from that.
I think I should just find a good lawyer in the Far East. My stats so far show that 90% of the plagiarists are from that part of the world, unfortunately. If they were living in the EU, a nice lawsuit would be on its way as we speak :DDDDD
It is necessary to make the nft of each photo. Then it will be easy to prove authorship.
plagiarism is one of the problems that we must solve together, and we learn together too.
True. Ideas?
create a safeguard to avoid this.
How? What do you mean?
Thanks!
remain bot arlert about post that to do plagiarism on comment with gift is enough
I don't understand that. Sorry. Please explain?
I notice blurt already have bot, place we can report some acts like that
A, great! Thank you! Could you point them out to me please?
