From a very practical standpoint someone around to help you get food when you have malaria is very important. When I have malaria i dont feel like eating or doing anything and the headache is very intense. But it is important to eat well and take the medicine with food so it gets into the blood and liver easier. Someone to get you food and push you to eat a bit is good.

I totally agree with you @leifasaur. Apart from the food aspect, most people do not like to take drugs, but when someone is with you, they will force, or encourage you to take them (for your own good).
I could recall when I used to throw drugs under the couch when I was younger haha
I not like to take drugs. But I know the feeling when I start to come down with malaria and I can feel it in my side. As soon as that starts I go for Lonart and I know i will be fine in 3 days time. It always does the trick. I dont joke with malaria.
