Fear is Contagious but so is Bravery #istandbehindpeoplejustbuildingshit

Well I was writing this big epic post but I feel it is no longer necessary because @jacobgadikian came and did the brave thing and made a brave stand. Basically there will be no attempts to control blurt, his stance is firmly in letting blurt live as it does and continue to live with less and less controls.

https://blurt.blog/blurt/@jacobgadikian/no-s

My post was about carefully looking at the different players motives here and everyone should chill out. I think Jake's post even helped put some perspective in place for me as I really did not agree with some of the things MD said and at the same time helped me understand that what I was seeing as an attach from the other camp is also free speech and allowed within the protocol. And if someone actually brought the money to try to take over blurt that would be very interesting.

So going from here the only form of control over blurt is a consensus by the witnesses of the fees associated with actions on the blockchain. The logic will be in making sure everyone really considers what they are posting and making it worth while. I can see how this will make for higher quality content but not sure how it would protect the chain from a cabal of whales. But maybe that is not something we need to worry about. If that happens blurt is worth much more than it is now, we cash in our chips and let them have blurt.

https://blurt.blog/blurt/@jacobgadikian/transaction-fees

I am concerned about how higher fees would affect our #blurtafrica community with the small stake holders. I will continue to ask questions and seek clarification where I can. But I encourage everyone in the community to think about how you post. There are a lot of boring shit posts, and if you are posting in #blurtafrica and not getting my vote you need to ask yourself why?

Just 1 vote from me will allow you to pay your fees and make more, even the liquid blurt portion. We have people here who make up to 5 or more posts a day that are decent with 1 decent picture. What if you bring those posts into one great post for the day and collect more rewards and pay less fees.

If you are making posts and getting less than 10 blurt on a post. CHANGE WHAT YOU ARE DOING. Make your posts more interesting, market them better, interact on other posts to get people back to yours. Use the noise.cash blurt community to push your posts, use the discord promotion channel to push your post. MAKE SURE THAT WHAT YOU POST IS AT LEAST WORTH 1 BLURT.

On this not authors should also consider the people that take the time to comment on their posts, interact with them, and give them a vote if it is a quality comment.

In summary:
Lets let bravery be as contagious as blurt.

I think fees should be increased incrementally to monitor at what point they start to bite. I do not see them as any kind of quality control. They will also affect comments and hence engagement. Let's monitor for now.

I think that is basically what Jake was saying. When blurt reaches $1 he would like to see fees at $1. So fees would basically match value.

Not exactly what he said. I look at how the numbers are changing and we could see a medium length post costing 30 BLURT just to post. Not there... yet.

Yes I was wrong seeing his comment above. Looks like he wants to increase it drastically and then bring it down if need be.

Am not against Increasing the fees, but how about engagements (interaction) on the blockchain, what will happen to them. Just like the pubs🤔

So basically what I'd like to do is jack the fees up way high, and then let's see what happens. If engagement drops, and we are measuring engagement by the Google analytics app that I have on both of my mobile phones, then we can lower the fees again. Also, anybody who wants access to the Google analytics for blurt, only needs to let me know that they would like access and then I will give them access. In this way, those analytics figures provide another benefit to the community and allow the community to get the information that's needed to make appropriate strategic decisions.

The fee increments is a good strategy to cub spam comments and shit postings.
BLURT will be great again.

Lets hope so. I think a serious user can still make this work. And as a community if there is a good poster we can always help to provide some liquid blurt to keep them going. Actually when I first stated something similar happened to me. I didn't have liquid blurt to make some accounts for people and I posted on the discord and blurt rained in. I don't think I even asked for it just said I was powering down to get some liquid.

I will never forget that generosity that I felt in blurt during that time. I really hope some of that culture has not been lost with the growth of blurt.

You act of generosity to new communities and new members is renowned sir.

Overtime a lot of new members have benefited from the blurt we give out to them for fees in our WhatsApp group and we won't stop doing that already.

We will do our best to support this initiative by increasing the amount of blurt we give out to creative content creators to keep them in line with posting regularly.

Thank you so much for having the mind to return the favour you received in the past by being generous to all who needed your assistance.
We are grateful to you sir

So in fact you got it perfectly! Think a little bit before you post, then post, and in that case it's really not going to be difficult at all to afford future posts, even just with what you earn from your post itself.

This creates a cost to using the chain, and the chain is actually quite expensive. The chain lives on a network of computers that span the world. Every time a transaction is made it is stored on the chain permanently. The permanent nature of this storage necessitates the use of transaction fees.

Nice one! 🙏🏽🌞❤️👌🏽 Amen!

When I saw the increment, I was concerned too but for those who are serious about Blurt, I think they just need to make their posts worth more than they are paying for it. That's why I share my links on Twitter too. I'm only trying to look at the bright side even though commenting is a bit hard for most. I try to engage those who comment on my posts too, to reward their sacrifice...even before now.

This Increment would definitely have an effect, maybe blurt didn't want many users like other blogging sites do, I think they are trying to chase users away with hike price and it's not like this in other websites.
