New Blurt branding proposition (ENG / PL)

in blurt •  last year  (edited)
As I actively participate in the promotion of blurt, I cannot be indifferent to the branding of our network. Branding is one of the key features that affect how the product is perceived by recipients.

During the promotion, unfortunately, I have already met the opinions of people who say that our red face looks quite unfriendly to these people. It even discourages them from using our blockchain. In addition, I must admit that when I was creating promotional videos, I had a problem myself how to bite this topic so that it looked good.

So I was wondering if it would make sense to create a new branding.

  • This would include the creation of a new logo, in several variants, both raster and vector,

  • several professional promotional graphics,

  • new color sheme and several additional theme motives

All this would be widely available to anyone who wants to use this branding.

I know a professional graphic designer who could do such an order.

At the current price of the blurt, it would be 100,000 Blurt from DAO. At 2000 blurts per day for 50 days.

Below are some works by @morveska who will implement this project.

If you think this proposal is reasonable, I invite you to vote.

  • Obejmowało by to stworzenie nowego logo, w kilku wariantach zarówno rastrowego jak i wektorowego,

  • kilku grafik promocyjnych,

  • nowej kolorystyki oraz kilku motywów dodatkowych

Wszystko to było by powszechnie dostępne dla każdego kto będzie chciał ten branding wykorzystać.

Znam profesjonalnego grafika który mógł by takowe zlecenie wykonać.

Przy obecnej cenie blurt było by to 100000 Blurt from DAO. Przy kwocie 2000 blurt dziennie.

Powyżej kilka prac @morveska która wykona projekt.

Jeśli uważacie że ta propozycja jest sensowna to zapraszam do głosowania.

Yes. Blurt needs to be rebranded. I agree 100%

We need to pay a Professional to get this work done.

Normally I would block all proposals, but the proposal system is broken so I do not have such an opportunity. For this reason, I will approve all proposals that come in

I congratulate you for your good mood to make our Blurt chain more attractive. Only as information, I have organized two contests twice to modify the logo, and users in general did not want the changes, in fact they identified with the logo, as it is now. But I understand that we are evolving and the changes can be positive and good when they are done with organization, planning, professionalism and good intention.

I celebrate your initiative, the neck is known what surprises can arise.
Good vibes.

That's how it is. I also somehow got used to this smiley and you can even like it when you are already a user who has become associated with the platform :) Unfortunately, experience in marketing says otherwise. First of all, branding cannot be associated with negative emotions. You know what you see confirms here with his comment, for example @g10a . Something you brag about to your friends can't be something that, at first glance, makes them ask, "Why is this logo so angry?"

Let's say that once or twice you hear it from someone and then, for example, you feel that something is wrong with where you are "that it evokes negative feelings in other people" and, for example, some kind of shame and internal inhibition builds up before further promoting it.

The logo can be aggressive, such as an angry bull getting ready to attack because it is, for example, the logo of a company trading on stock exchanges, but then it expresses determination to conquer the bull market - it is then an aggressive emotion but associated in a positive way.

In our case, it's just an angry face whose mouth has been covered by someone. It is known what the author meant, that it was about censorship, freedom of expression, etc., but unfortunately most will associate it with inarticulate vocabulary, with arguing, with shitstorms on the internet.

@ofgridlife who has been heavily promoting our blurt on twitter and elsewhere seems to agree 100% that the logo is a problem.

You're doing what I can see involving an already existing community for fun activities etc. So basically you're bumping into people who have already gotten into blurt for some reason. As promoters who venture out into unfamiliar waters to people who have never heard of blurt, we sense some resentment about how our branding is perceived outside.

I myself have come across a few negative opinions already and the one that finally convinced me was the opinion of a friend thanks to whom I met Steem a few years earlier. He resigned on the way, among others, because of downvotes, but when I told him to come to blurt now because there are no downvotes here, he said that he could, but he doesn't want his brand that he creates to be associated with such a logo.

What we need here is definitely more authors and users, so I think that if at least some of the potential future users are put off by such a basic thing as logo and branding, it means that this is an important thing to change.

I just entered 'techy logos' On Google and got this for example...

In your opinion, using stock logos is a direction? Let's start with the fact that the log is not everything, the whole binding must be consistent.

after all, it does not guarantee that the logo will be original.

No! Not stock logos... Just suggestions...

aaa :) ok thanks. but i think if that proposal pass @morveska will find her own way to achieve it. She has already hundreds of happy customers on her portfolio and have that thing so what makes her feels what people expect so... you know:)

Get the proposal going! Communicate it in the witness chat... You have my vote for it! ✅

Yeah I agree, when I shared blurt to some of my friends, some were asking "why is the site logo looks angry, it feels threating me while I'm reading articles there" LOL. I replied, no its not, the logs just too eager to see you onboard and be with us in a free speech community.

By the way, just voted the proposal, Let's get it on, BLURT it out!

Beyond Blurt just showing an angry or euphoric face, I would like it to show something more general related to the idea of the platform, to be a modern, eye-catching logo, but at the same time its meaning very precise and detailed. That it conveys trust, security and technology, for example my thought: the logo can be a pen so that it fits with the blockchain. Or a cog that conveys community and blockchain. Blurt definitely needs new developments, thanks for your work. ❤️‍🔥

What about using AI for the logo ?

Posted from https://blurtlatam.intinte.org

you can use ai to create a logo concept for you, but still without proper graphic processing, it won't be a professional logo. Another issue is that when it comes to copyright, first of all, it is not known about copyright because AI uses data libraries that contain images of different people, the second issue is that legally, for example, everything that AI creates is also open source, so basically everyone can use the same sign.

However, such modified by man is already subject to copyright, so in this case the blurt network can still have them exclusively. although I do not know exactly how such an agreement is created so that, for example, the logo can only be used to identify products with a given blockchain because it is not a simple matter.

Another issue is that just generating an image in ai is not everything. And he won't vectorize it, he won't prepare it in appropriate formats, he won't make several sensible versions, and of course the logo itself is only part of branding, you need to create something that will be sensible and sellable in the eyes of an experienced person. For example, I remember someone creating a hive logo and it seemed uncool to me, but now I can see that it is noticeable, stands out and fits well with this blockchain. It looks pretty good

Nice plans.
I also strongly recommend the promotion of blurt be considered as high priority. And this can come in various contests and events to increase the visibility and awareness of the noble platform.

I do what i can with promotion also,
