With fees, Blurt blockchain is for social media only, we won't have games or other type of apps.
How does fees stops us from having games or other apps for blurt ?
RoninNetwork , BSC , Ethereum , Polygon , etc they all have fees but have so many dapps build on them.
If I wanted to create a game with a lot of transactions why would I use blurt instead of hive? Not having downvotes is for a game not that important.
Other blockchains have higher fees sure but they also have a lot more users. More users = more money.
When it comes to building games that will be a whole new thing with lots of functions. It is not necessary that there will be fees for every transactions for the game.
I can counter ask you that why will you use hive and not Binance, Ronin , or , Polygon network.
Anyways point is if we create a game or any other Dapp on blurt then they will not be following fees rules for every transaction. It will be decided by the person who is building the app on top of blurt network.
I might be wrong so i would like to mention @saboin for help. I think he can answer this question better.
Every transaction on Blurt has a fee. That is part of the blockchain’s code. You can’t bypass it. You can only ask the witnesses to vote for a lower fee.
Thank you for enlightening me with this knowledge and so that means if someday a game is built on blurt blockchain their will be fees for every transaction.
Correct.
If I was a dev and wanted to build app, I would be looking for fee less blockchain
Fees have nothing to do with games or development. ETH has huge fees yet people have invested billions in defi, and games.
I remember investing around $800 in Axie infinity game and the fees were huge so we waited days so that the fees would be lower. We did not drop the idea of investing in Axie, we just delayed it.
@kamranrkploy, @ZahidSun and I have spent a lot of time discussing about bringing/creating a game on Blurt blockchain and if you or anyone else can build one then I'll help with the funding and running it.
Well it's just about the amount of users on a blockchain. Why are there so many apps and so high fees on ETH? Because ETH has a lot more ppl using it than here. Double the user base and you can quadruple the coin price.
Just compare the prices for NFTs: they are multiple times higher on ETH than on other chains because there are more ppl. And more ppl means more $$$ and more $$$ brings in more ppl. Because of that ppl are still paying these fees on ETH.
But why would a game developer create a game here if there are other blockchains with more ppl and less fees? Just take a look at splinterlands, do you think it would jave survived with the current blurt fees? 0.1 blurt per transaction? And there are a lot transactions.
I don't see any advantages for blurt when it comes to games. Why would a dev chose blurt instead of hive? Not having downvotes is just a social media thing but not important for apps.
Your whole comment proves the first sentence I wrote in the comment above.
"Fees have nothing to do with games or development."
Why are ppl paying these fees on ETH? Because there are so many users and many users means more money. NFTs are selling for idiotic amounts of $ because of so many ppl who are trading them or are hoping to sell them for more. Take a look at NFTs on hive, they are selling for less because there are less users. But at least the fees are much lower there (only service fees and no fee from the blockchain).
And now take a look at blurt, even less users and higher fees than hive. Where are the advantages for blurt from the perspective of a game creator?
Why should a developer use blurt with it's fees when there are steem and hive without fees?
If blurt wants such thing like games then there need to be some nice blockchain features.
A dev would look for tools available as well the community support, not just the fees. The fees anyways get managed when the people using are benefitting from it.
I wouldn't mind creating any application here if I have the time without worrying about fees.
