Introduction
Lately, I've been thinking about business and asking myself some questions, I was thinking of what business i should venture into, the cost of starting, will it be a sole proprietorship, partnership or a corporation type of business, how long will it take me to make my mark in the society? And many more questions like these ones. These questions have really been on my mind for a while now and to be honest, i don't have all the answers, at least not yet, but I'm pretty sure of the business I'll get involved with and soon enough, I'll be able to answer all the other questions bugging my mind.
Hello guys, it's your favorite blogger here, and I'm so excited because I've found out some interesting and very important secret about all business and I'm here to share this secret with you, all you need to do now, is relax and learn.
So what's this *secret*,? Well, it's just something so common among all top and thriving businesses, yet they could be hidden in plain site especially when you're not looking. Its the basic principles behind all successful businesses and one that all upcoming business should follow through. When I say All, I mean *ALL*, none excepted, no business is too big for these laws and none too small either. These principles will ensure the growth of your business, this I assure you.
Well, they are not some magical stuff and are simple just as I'll list them out here;
- Productivity
- Reproduction
- Distribution
- Dominance
Let me briefly explain these for you.
Production
Be productive. What value are you offering to the society in exchange for money some other thing of equal value? This value may be in the form of goods or services. Get something going, you can create something out of nothing or simply modify an already existing goods/service, what ever the case may ne just be productive. Remember, nothing goes for nothing, there's no such thing as something for nothing.
Taking reference from the bible, we can see that it says
And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
Genesis 1:28
Special emphasis on the part where it say 'be fruitful'. So many people take this verse to mean 'make babies', while this is true, this is not the entirety of it, it means that you bw productive. Diving deeper in to the meaning we can clearly see that God ignores the seed, which brings the tree that then bears forth the fruit. It's ought to be *be seedful* first, but its not. This is so because there already a seed in you, all you need do is to take that seed and grow it to provide the fruit. Some might ask, what's the seed, or whats my seed, well i have an answer for you. Your seed is that brilliant idea of your which will not die off, there's something you're really passionate about which you fell you can do. *NIKE says **Just do it**.
People and Nations alike are poor because they ignore this principle.
Reproduction
I am not talking biology here but the biological process of reproduction is a good reference point for this second law. Every healthy matured individual has the ability to reproduce its kind, animals, plants and humans alike, the ones who can't are deemed unhealthy in some way.
Some may ask, whats the need for reproduction? Well, its simply for continuity of life, you life/lineage. Imagine someone who has no offspring and then dies, what do you this will happen to such a person in the next five years? I'll tell you what, he'll ne forgotten, that's the the hard truth. Animal and plants that fail to reproduce, goes extinct. Stop reproducing and die.
This principle applies to businesses in the same way. If you have a good product, one thats truly essential to the development of the society, but you fail to be able to reproduce this goods, well, guess what, your business will fold.
By all means, reproduce that goods/service of yours for the continuity of your business, if your previous products were not so good, work on the development and produce a better one( usually according to your market demands).
Distribution
Who's your market and how will ypur goods get to them? You need to figure out a marketing strategy for your product that will ensure that these goods/service will efficiently get to the consumers/target market. I read a story a few weeks back of a very talented artist, who was indeed gifted and has made numerous wonderful paintings but the sad news is that he didn't have any clue on how to sell the so those paintings just stayed there, as good as they were, they were now useless.
I'll tell you something interesting now about your products and sales. You products doesn't necessarily have to be the best or a world beater( even though having this is a good thing), selling these products is key to your business survival. Take Macdonald's for example. This is a world wide company that sells burger. You must have thought they made the best burgers for them to sell that much, but this is fairly true. Their burgers are good, no doubt, but it's a little over the average burger you'll get anywhere else, the difference is that Macdonald's know how to sell and sell well with an efficient distribution channel, while others make greater burgers but with lesser sales.
Some people might say, oh well, I'm not a good sales person, let me just quit, i say nay. Invest in yourself or seek for professional help where necessary, no one is born with the title of the greatest sales person ever.
Dominance
Have you ever stopped to actually analyse that dominant person in your society to see what makes the person so dominant? Is it the carriage?the charisma? The wealth? Or some supernatural force?
Well the answer is that the person is in control over everything in his field.
You will want to take control of the market you're in and be the first one people think of whenever there's a need for your kind of goods or service. Microsoft was so dominant that you had to go through them to get softwares for all your PCs at some point in time. This gave them so much control over the market that the owner, Bill Gates ( who had become the youngest billionaire at the time), was summoned by the government in order to reduce such dominance.
Conclusion
Well these are the four basic laws of business for me; Productivity, Reproduction, Distribution and Dominance. There are some other important traits that could be helpful such as having a vision, where do you see yourself and your business in a certain time frame and also setting clear plans to get the vision. Hardwork and perseverance are also good traits.
Thanks for reading through.
Peace.
