It's been a while since I stopped running BLURT witness node. It's been more than 6 months. But I re-started my node a few days ago. My last blurtd version was 0.7.0, so I built blurtd 0.8.2.
Witness @nalexadre's post about BLURT node building was really helpful:
Building a Blurt Blockchain RPC Node Server | Ubuntu
Of course using docker image is more convenient, but I wanted to try building blurtd from source code hoping that running blurtd without docker will use less server resource(unfortunately my server spec is not so good).
Witness nodes maintain the blockchain. One more witness node means a little bit more stability. So, though small, I think this is a positive addition to BLURT.
I hope BLURT will continue to get better and more popular in the future.
