Greetings beautiful people!
I have been so excited to write this post!! You know that feeling when you have been tossing and turning something in your head for what feels like an eternity and then FINALLY you make a decision and it feels just PERFECT - Cinderella and the glass slipper kind of perfect. Well that is how I feel right now. Let me tell you why.
I have been a passionate writer for most of my life. Like many of my other creative outlets, writing has always been an incredibly healing and empowering journey for me. Some of you may know me well, and others not at all - either way… I started writing and sharing online many years ago. I was a VERY active writer and often wrote several times a day.
Sadly, I walked away from public writing for a few years because my passion and enthusiasm for sharing snippets of my life was trampled on so badly by a small group of people, simply because I re-shared a handful of my particularly good content once or twice after its original publishing - and for clarity, this was only ever done a year or longer after the original went out. I could never understand this one dimensional perspective and I still don’t - nor am I willing to allow small minded people to put me in a box and get away with telling me what I can or cannot do with my own content.
I write because I love it and because I have something to share. Re-visiting something - let's say a recipe, a year or longer after it was originally published, is definitely going to be received by a fresh audience - and that is what you call growth. Pretty normal practice in the real world.
As you will see from my profile here - just over a month ago, and after a three year absence - I decided to return to the world of public writing. I attempted to go back to Hive and was blasted so hard with negativity, I left no sooner than I had arrived. I tried out a platform called PublishOx but discovered very quickly that there is little to no audience there. I even went back to Steemit, but it was only a matter of time before I was wrapped over the knuckles and had votes removed because I had published an article on PublishOx and on Steem.
Throughout all of this, I was also sharing here. In fact, Blurt was the only space where the people involved actually made me feel like I would be free to be completely myself - to share what I want and how I want. I sat with this matter internally for a while, considering just not bothering with writing anymore - but after a few weeks of internal debate I said to myself - NO! Why should I have to stop doing something I love, just because some people and spaces insist on sucking the life out of you.
So, with that said - I just wanted to say a very big thank you to the individuals here who made me want to stay and for making this a now solid decision. I intend to bring ALL my writing to BLURT. I realise this may not mean much to anyone else, lol - but it means a lot to me and I am excited for the journey moving forward.
I have always felt like an “underdog” and my entire life, finding a space where I feel completely FREE to be ME - without judgement, ridicule or rules has always been challenging… so when I say this decision just felt RIGHT - I mean it with all my heart. I know many “talk” about Blurt and often don’t have very nice things to say - but if there is one thing I have learnt in life… it is that small minds discuss people and great minds discuss ideas. I would FAR rather support a project and platform which encourages people to come out of their shells, rather than the opposite.
So, in a nutshell - HELLO BLURT! I am here to stay… if you will have me, that is!
Hope you all have an absolutely TERRIFIC TUESDAY!
❤❤❤
Until next time...
Much Love from Country Bumpkinland, South Africa xxx

I have been greatly impressed by your post because I, too, faced challenges on the Hive platform. In one group, I was subjected to mockery due to my choice to follow a vegan diet, and in another group, support for my contributions ceased simply because I didn't include the title in English. They didn't even take the courtesy to inform me of my error, even though it was a simple oversight on my part and not an intentional action. Furthermore, I consider this error to be of minor significance.
In my experience, I encountered numerous challenges on Hive, where some individuals appear to abuse their positions of power and act disdainfully toward others, only to later complain about how the powerful treat them unfairly. This situation is at times rather ironic. Only in the Holus&Lotus community have I felt a genuine sense of appreciation and value.
Warm regards and a heartfelt welcome.
You, me and so many others! Anyway -= time for better things, yes? :)
Lovely to "meet" you!
Oh, what a great presentation. Reading these lines made me feel identified. I also have a very similar story.
It is a universal condition that in order for creative and valuable things to be produced, freedom must be given and not uniformed to all under a single thought.
I am also new to blurt, and in the few days that I have, I feel a great emotion every time I go to write. We all have something to say or share, but we have to be in a place that feeds our inspiration. Welcome, congratulations that you are on blurt!
So many people have similar stories, it really is awful! Anyway - let us move on to better things :)
That's right! 🌷
And how lovely it is to have you here! I've missed you!
That surprises me. You are a rock star in my book.
Thank you sweet soul!
Me too…. I Choose Blurt.

As co-founder of Blurt I am very pleased to see your positive appreciation for platform, it gives validation to our efforts and confirms that we have built a place and community that matters and makes a difference in people’s lives.
And thank you too for your positive advice and also for the warm welcome :) Lovely to "meet" you!
Yeah the exclusivity thing is weird and promotes crap content as anyone who’s a professional in their field isn’t going to agree to never have that image or publication placed somewhere else on the internet, off one platform for a few dollars. It’s stupid: maybe if posts were £400 each or something you could possibly understand it.
👏👏👏

Welcome to blurt.
We're already in contact, but I wish you a warm welcome again! It's good to have writers who find Blurt to be a good location for their creations.
Can't guarantee you won't be judged here! After all, we all judge, all the time, about everything. It's natural and it's healthy. Thankfully, not a lot of people are going to take their judgments out on you, or even let you know they exist. : )
Sounds like you were attacked (perhaps on Steem or Hive) for reusing content? If so, sorry to hear that. Thankfully, there are no downvotes on Blurt! So if you do reuse content, nobody can punish you directly for it. There is, however, a "COAL list", which basically means a list of people who misuse the platform for profits. The rules are fairly vague, and I don't even know if they're officially posted. One faux pas is "farming rewards", which appears to mean using non-organic means to generate payouts. Another is content that is "low value", and another is "copy pasting content". There's also the community itself. If they feel your content is being repeated too often, you will lose support. That's because Blurt is largely about the cryptocurrency earnings (not entirely of course, but in a major way). It's not exactly like other blog platforms. There's only so much profit to be taken in any given day. If anyone is found to be taking more than they deserve, whatever that actually means, support can wane. Some people are even considered outlaws around here, disliked by almost everyone, but because they can't be voted into oblivion (like on Hive) they usually just fade into the background. Some people use the mute feature to ensure they never have to see such accounts again.
That said, some of the top-earning accounts here are ones that reuse their content all the time. Beach and sunset photos, for example, always seem to garner votes... no matter how often they're reused! Voters have learned they earn rewards based solely on the success (payout size) of the content, and vote only on content that has already been heavily voted on. (Details.) The rich get richer, essentially! One can skim the "Trending" list and just vote on everything that is doing well, maximizing one's curation rewards. Sloppy curation, but profitable and easy. So accounts that do well, end up doing even better, and accounts that are small and unknown tend to stay small and unknown. It's hard to break into the Trending page when all the curators are voting only on a few chosen accounts! It's the combined result of this blockchain's current settings, and human nature. You will develop your own technique and strategy, both with your content and how you handle the community.
Personally, I don't curate content that I've seen before, no matter the creator. I'm looking for original content. I have no problem with people who reuse the same stuff, but I don't personally consider that adding anything new to the blockchain. That's another great thing about Blurt - we all decide where our votes go... and there are no wrong answers!
See you soon : ))
I like Blurt best too for his freedom and lack of pressure.
