(JaiChai) A couple questions from me - only two days on Blurt...

I became active on Blurt since yesterday and want to avoid as many common platform-newbie faux pas as possible.

In that light, can someone please answer these two fundamental questions:

Is self-voting permitted on the Blurt platform?

If so, what does the community as a whole really think about it?

I'm asking this to be "forewarned and forearmed"; that is, to be aware of any written rules and guidelines, as well as your personal opinion on this matter.

From past experience on other platforms, if self-voting is permitted, there always seems to be two mindsets.

Pro Self-Vote Arguments:

Legal Facts:

It's not prohibited, so why not?

Political & Social Principle Viewpoint:

It falls under the "Personal Sovereignty, Property Rights and Freedoms" category and should not be controlled by anyone other than it's owner.

Philosophical & Business Model Rationale:

Besides, if you as the creator don't appreciate your own work enough to acknowledge it with a reward, how do you expect others to do so too?

Realist,"Conspiracy Theorists", etc.:

All new platform members face an uphill battle; especially if the platform has gone toxic with greedy, controlling whales.

That means, if you're not an early adopter and already a platform whale, your chances of ever becoming one are slim to none; especially if you don't exhaust every possible (and permitted) resource available for increasing your stake.

Don't believe me?

Then ponder this question.

How many times have you seen a "Trending" post not authored by or not supported by (via rewards or power delegation) a platform whale?

Anti-Self Vote Stance - Public (Note: Personal beliefs among this group may vary greatly from what is touted publicly.)

Self-Voting is narcissistic, in bad taste and a drain on the platform's reward pool.

Furthermore, "true quality content" does not need self-promotion or any "platform gaming" to attract recognition and post rewards.

[Again, from my past experience, if one falls out of the good graces of the platform Gods, the definition of "true quality content" becomes a moving target that can never be hit; a tool for control and mass manipulation by corrupt, self-serving platform whales.]

Thanks a lot in advance for your comments and opinions.

May you and yours be well and loving life today.

Self voting and even vote buying (@upvu) is not restricted on the blurt chain by any code or system workings , everyone is free to use and abuse .
On here your behavior is judged upon by every user individually .
Natural market workings are left untouched here in case of self voting .

To me , if one thinking self voting is getting payed for the work ( post ) done ,. well to me that sounds like bull , as no one asked you for this post ever ,. you did it , no one ordered you .
But i understand that creators of artwork paintings and pictures do self vote their posts for this same reason , for the curator bots really only like words and text . Even buying votes to promote your own post of art a bit more is not a crime on blurt ,. it can be done right or wrong . Humble to get your work on trending past the circle yerkings to get noticed to build a follow for your works ,.. or ,
Wrong like offgridlife pushing posts on local real estate plots ( low effort shit posts ) on a daily basis . Without upvu and many alter accounts offgrid is using to self vote ,.. no one would know about him in any way .
Obviously one driven by greed and envy .

And no worry's on blurt , if the founding whales dislike you for being a critic ,. there are always some whales that will vote for your critics .
As long as your critics are just and have a solid basis .
But as always , the safest way is to shut up and let them rule .
( i never did ,.. for i go for any reputation ) ;-)

On blurt , some , like me , complained a lot , and became the rulers critics . Free speech is free speech ,. deal with all of it i say . No stake can make a voice more powerful then another ,.. no stake gives the rights to rule over the property of others .

After almost two years on blurt ,.. and many struggles ,.. blurt is still the most social place to speak free . If there where no critics ,. blacklisting community muting banning or even account freezing up till theft from inactive users would all be implemented by now .

Tip ,. as your witness vote can be spread out over 30 witnesses , like you have one vote only , it is wise to vote as little witnesses as possible . So your vote stays strong and will not get deluded over 30 of them .

Welcome to the chain ,. have fun .
;-)

Wow! The responsiveness here is really impressive. Thanks much for visiting and commenting. Your insights and advice will help me decide whether or not to upvote my own posts. While reading your comment, I thought about restricting self-voting activity to just the posts with my NFTs. But since I'm a writer AND an artist, I illustrate my written work with my own original artwork; meaning, almost all my posts contain my NFTs too, Lol! Again, thanks for the interaction. Hope you and yours are well and loving life today. In Lak'ech, JaiChai.
