HF3 testnet begins

in blurt •  4 years ago

Hi, after a ton of work by @cryptomancer and @rycharde hard fork three is complete and will begin testing.

Please do not let its small size fool you, I did a code review with @cryptomancer about 15 hours ago and I think he got completely the correct 86 lines of code in exactly the right places.

I am very excited about this hard fork.

Of course, I am excited to solve the security issues that have troubled us, but it is so much more than that.

@rycharde's new economic design takes blurt into a new realm. He has studied these issues for years and his ideas were always soundly rejected on other platforms. And I have spent a lot although regrettably not as much as I'd like, time talking on the phone and I believe that this new and very simple algorithm Will take blurt to the next level.

The most interesting thing about it to me was just how tiny it is.

I'm delighted to have seen our team come together to build this and I am very excited to see what happens with it over time, just like I am excited to see what will happen with the blurt community over time. Please know, that although there was some discussion of stopping this blockchain, that will not be happening.

It was just one thing that was considered out of a great many possibilities in a very difficult situation.

I would also like to thank @etianclub for the app

@yehey for his work on front ends

@franky1 for his work on front ends

@saboin for his work during the attack

@megadrive for always going above and beyond as a business partner and friend

@freakeao for his documentation and exploration of wireguard

blurt loves you

That's really a good news to hear.
People have been waiting for the hard fork for months now and I think everyone will be happy once the testing is done and hf3 goes live.

It wasn't possible without so great team working behind the scene.
Thanks to everyone :
@cryptomancer , @rycharde , @yeyeh , @etainclub , @franky1 , @saboin and @freakeao for there works.

Also thanks to you @jacobgadikian and @megadrive , without you both this platform would not be where it is today.

Despite the attack on blurt , blurt is standing tall as a fighter and down the road you both are good leaders.

Thank you for this lovely platform.
thank you so much 😊.

Thanks for the mention, I am here to help in any way I can. Blurt to all. We are a family, with our differences and above all with the distance that exists but still we are working towards improving everything and have an amazing platform.

I am very excited about this. I hope the HF3 sol fixes all the security issues, I love that blurt is still alive and I am going to strive to stay active in both Blurt and Bling. Thank you all for your efforts to keep Blurt going and making it better every day. Blurt to the moon.

Thanks very much for the mention.
I'll check out the testnet.
Sounds like the time to write a few words about what we expect to happen!

Thanks all for your hard work, given positive energy in the platform.......

With these changes and implementations, we sincerely hope that our platform will gain the necessary momentum to reach the moon. We are waiting for instructions on how to perform this important update.

Thank you all for the effort you continue to make on behalf of all of us. You make all of this possible for us.

I'm thankful that this chain will not be stopping as well. I wondered strongly if it would.

That's a very good news for us sir

Great to hear. The Pi project is also making progress, for example @double-u has also been online with his Pi since tonight.
Please let us know if you want us to stop the Pi's for the HF.

Good news ...!

Is there a place (a post for example?) with a short description of all changes which will happen together with HF 3?

I love blurt! Blurt on! Thank you for sharing this good news. Keep it up!

I do not know much about the subject and the problems it has, but when reviewing @rycharde's publications I find the separation between bloggers and investors interesting, since it seems clear to me that there are quite a few users who generate and share content on the blockchain, But there are users who are more interested in making investment instead of creating content.

I am not sure why in other chains I did not hear of this type of discussion, but it really seems logical to me that you can have members of the blockchain with different skills, intentions and objectives, so it would be good if you could have what you need to that each person develop the activities and contributions that best suit their criteria.

Thanks for your kind words. HF3 won't include those changes you mention - they are under development for Blurt2/Bling and possibly a Blurt HF4 if users and witnesses wish.
