Fees will still be there

Usernames will be there but you'll have the option of buying many of them. They'll be tradable property and they will correspond to your public key.

You'll have the option of having no username.

user balances will be honored.

The API will change dramatically.

Migration assistance will be offered to all.

You'll post your blurt2 public key to blurt1 in a specially formatted post.

Migration will happen just once. Miss the cutoff, miss blurt2.0.

You should be able to generate testnet keys this week.

Active key attestation is the best way to ensure the rightful owners get their stake in the new chain and not the appointed stewards of their posting key.

Yep.

Fully agreed.

Wow! Congratulations!
Jacob, you are faster than the wind!

I see an exciting time ahead for all of us.

But I hope you're getting enough sleep too!

So I mainly work in the United States and Europe so to speak.

I tend to sleep during my morning.

Wow, that's pretty fast! Impressively fast.

Seems like Blurt only just came back online, and you've already got 2.0 in the pipeline and almost ready to go.

Do you actually every SLEEP?

So the work on 2.0 has actually been going on for months but not directly.

Since about June, 2020 the devx (developer experience) team at Tendermint making a product called Starport.

In my estimation, Starport cuts 2ish months off of the time needed to put up a chain. It also makes launching it dramatically easier. I used Starport to make that prototype.

SP gives developers a clear pathway to success by making the connection between the back end and front end very clear. It also provides a nice and clean modular layout for the application. Nonetheless there are a whole bunch of things that still need doing. I will make a list and keep you guys updated:

  • Markdown formatting
  • Reward Pool
  • Custom json (may not implement this let's see)
  • IPFS
  • Chat (may borrow a module that's in development now; let's see)
  • Fees adjusted by witnesses
  • Burning or redistribution of fees to non consensus nodes, an idea from @afrog
