Blurt no longer needs me to survive

in blurt •  4 years ago  (edited)

So this week I realized that I could shut everything down and blurt would be fine and boy did it ever feel good.

.......

To be clear, I'm not going anywhere in fact I plan to invest a lot more time over the coming years and be more engaged.

.....

Just surviability-- without me-- was one of my biggest concerns about the project overall, and we have gotten there. Much faster than I ever could have imagined.

........

Thanks to those who made that possible.

Context

I took down the whole launch cluster over the past two days except for the seeds. Seeds will be recreated elsewhere for symbolic satisfaction.

Blurt is alive.

Congratulations and thank you very much for the Blurt. You did an exellent job Jacob. You stopped the choose between Pest and Cholera. The blockchain Blurt saved the ongoing of my blockchain experiences.

Hey, thank you as well.

Certainly wasn't a one man project, sooooo many people have helped.

And this past week, what happened when the servers got screwed up, was an incredible demonstration of how strong the community and blockchain network are.

When I wasn't able to attend to it, not just one other person stepped up, but several-- and they made sure there were front ends available.

I'll name names:

@ericet
@blurtdev (@franky1)
@yehey
@someguy123

And of course there's not a chance this project would be where it is today without the contributions from @megadrive and @baabeetaa

Of course I am thankful to you all too. This chain spends hope to a lot of homless bloggers. Thankfulness is one of the main reasons, why I am working on the FAQ at all. By this way I can give back some time to your team.

Hi Jacob, @jacobgadikian

I was just voting some witnesses and I have a question:

Please, does @blurtdev have two witness servers with @blurtdev and with @franky1?

I wish you a nice weekend!

It seems you are correct, however I do not mind.

The shart votes for neither of them, he earned that spot.

Best way to correct that situation (it's not ideal, I agree) is for you to begin running a witness.

My comfort will increase when we hit 100 witnesses and I'll increase again at 1000.

And we will achieve both, quite soon.

Thank you!

that's really good news sir. we believe in you. i am really grateful to come across the platform so early. keep up the good work sir...!

I joined this platform few weeks ago and I am glad I did. I have been able to introduce to some of my friends because I really feel at home here and big thanks to your great efforts. We appreciate sir.

My friend, I have voted for your witness. Good luck!

TBH, I'm already spending the majority of my blockchain time here in Blurt. My curation in other chains is in "auto" while my activities here in Blurt are done manually, which I'm really enjoying.

I just feel like what's happening here in Blurt is more authentic compared elsewhere.

Kudos Blurt team!

Blurt has a bright future as i think. First on steemit,then hive now i am on blurt. It is a happy journey.

Thanks for making this platform what it is. Happy Friday!

There were a lot of folks involved in making blurt what it is today.

@birdinc called me every day for two weeks to convince me that it must be built.
@baabeetaa did the vast majority of the building of Blurt
@thecryptodrive has handled both business and community related matters tremendously effectively.
@empato365 has handled discord and some exchange outreach
@jakemlim helped with business planning issues
@ericet learned javascript just so he could help with condenser
@franky1 has been running his own front end and other interfaces since day zero
@yehey responded to the difficulties with blurt.world by standing up geo-distributed rpc nodes.

Justin Sun made steem so untrustworthy, and Hive chose to exclude the majority of large Korean stakeholders.....

so it needed to be done.

Thank you forr using blurt!

  ·  4 years ago  ·

Yes Justin Sun ultimately made it all possible ahaha! :)

Justin Sun put fire on the DPoS consensus something that we must say Thank you. Without the mess that he and witnesses also... No Hive... No Blurt. I'm not going to defend Justin Sun, but He still working to put steem under Tron or integrated with It. So this integration appears so close. Let's see what will happen with Steem...
So thanks for you great job here in Blurt!
