200k Club

So since proof of stake is effectively oligarchy anyway, let's embrace it, but do so in a transparent and accountable way.

Unlike previous "private off chain clubs" like the Steemit slack, where admission was based on weather or not Ned liked you, the 200k club will be open to everyone with 200k blurt.

So kings and queens of blurt, drop a line if you'd like to join. Steem had oligarchs and pretended to be a democracy.

Blurt just has proud oligarchs working to build the empire, no masks.

Pretty obvious how you get into this club, right?

Drop a line :)

PS:

This does not yet exist. Should be a Slack? mattemost? Discord? Telegram? Something else?

Should it never exist?

I hope to get there some day.

Your day is coming sooner than you think

If you want to have unlimited access to message history without paying, I'd move away from Slack. It limits access to the most recent 10,000 messages. If you want to get a history beyond the 10k limit, one would have to pay around $9 per seat (standard plan). Slack Pricing.

We don't slack. Currently only comms channel is discord.

That's a response to your question in your post.

Can we balance this with a 200 IQ Club? ;-)

I know, looks good but 200 is a bit steep - say 150!

So, knights temporal and knights intellectual :-)

150 IQ = CLIQ (almost works!)

This is good, some people will come to BLURT, have money they could put in all at once or over time a few months or something, and want to earn more for curating and everything than they see with a fresh account, and this will give them a target purchase number.

That's a good idea. Hope this decision will be proved as a good one...

What are the benefits of this club?

One perk would be that they would be the first consulted when we are discussing policy changes.

Suggest us some perks for the 200K club :)

Well it's really quite simple, people in the 200kb club have a higher stake and will participate in a smaller chat.

Nothing more or less than that

So if I have a million Blurt can I have 5 seats? :)

  ·  4 years ago  ·   (edited)

In fact it is one seat one person.

1 megablurt gets you only a single seat. But maybe I am wrong, see post below.

Do you recall F&c$book's Libra, where the "witnesses" could be delegated if they didn't have the $100m entry price, so in principle one huge stakeholder could sponsor multiple "knights" at the table. I laughed at the time.

I wanted to be in the higher-ups too @jacobgadikian :D

It might take me years to join this club. Lol

I already use Discord and Telegram. I think it's the same for most users. I've got a long way to reach 200K. Just dropping by 2 cents :)

I hope, something will be better here to build the empire.

Well, I'm an awfully long way from that @jacobgadikian, but it still might be a nice incentive for people to invest in Blurt, particularly if there are some gone benefits from qualifying... like maybe having some direct say in governance, or such.

As for where to create it, I'd stick with Discord... people are familiar with it, and know how it works.
