Why is Sri Lanka really poor?

Show the world who you are
I actually thought of writing this letter because of a conversation I had with a friend in my office. One day my best friend told me the details of her husband's family. Her husband is not from Colombo. Someone who grew up in a rural environment a little far from Colombo. Her husband did not have a job at that time. But he was not alone. He is good at electronic work and repair work. So he stayed at home and did some small work like that. In the meantime, he also applied for jobs. Now he has a good job. But that's not the story. Meanwhile, my friend started talking about her husband's younger brothers. I asked what my brother's brothers were doing. "They don't do anything." she said "Doing nothing. So how do you live???" I asked. "Dad's pension is from it." she said "Okay, even if you get your father's pension, you won't always get it. Is it bad if you at least take a course and get a job?" I said "Crazy, they don't want to improve. They're just messing with each other in your village." she said "So your brother doesn't even ask you to get a job." I asked. "What's wrong? Even if my brother sometimes hits them, but it doesn't matter." she said "So why has this happened to them??" I asked her. The answer that is the basis of the topic I am going to talk about today comes from her. We associate with such advanced people who want to improve. So we also think that someday I will improve like Araya and get a car. So we work hard for that. But my brother's younger brothers are in the village. They don't even have a job. The association is also in the village. These guys are useless. Do they work? Do they buy cars or not? They don't see them. They eat three meals a day and sleep after hanging out in the village. They don't have any ideas to improve themselves. Because they are part of the society. I haven't seen it. Even my brother wanted to improve because he came to Colombo with me. He saw people playing different games to improve in Colombo. And people who improved in different ways. So my brother is now trying to improve. But they don't want that."

Friends, this is what I want to say. You've probably posted pictures on social media of your accomplishments, a car you bought with your hard-earned money, or a party you threw with your own money. Having posted them on social media, Sri Lankan Australians have been criticized. 90% of the Sri Lankans who see them say that when you post photos of the graduation ceremony where you studied hard until dawn, you are displaying great education. Or they will say that it doesn't matter if there are no jobs. But those who say those things are paranoid to ask parents for money to buy a data card and criticize you guys for having a degree. When you post a photo of the car you bought with your hard earned money or the luxurious house you built after hard work, it shows that you have money, and they don't even have a car or a bicycle. Live in a rented house. They don't even have a clay plant of their own. When you throw a fun party and post photos of it, many people comment, why spend so much???? How many poor people are there in this country? That money could have fed the poor people of this country. The majority of people in Sri Lanka think that rich people have everything. No one can see how hard those people worked to get the luxurious life they are paying, how much sleep they lost. The earner knows how hard it is to earn one rupee. But the majority of the islanders on social media think that the rich man should give away every hard-earned rupee. When you go to a country for a vacation and post photos, they say, oh where is a country like Sri Lanka? Why did you go to another country when there are so many good places in Sri Lanka? That is because they do not have the means to go to Kataragama, let alone a country. Even if you give charity to a children's home, they say, are we going to post it on Facebook to become famous? Or whether he will enter politics soon.
Good times, friends Bill Gates, Elon Musk, Mukesh Ambani were not in Sri Lanka. If they were in Sri Lanka, the islanders would surely say,
'It doesn't matter how rich you are, Bill Gates, you expelled someone who didn't pass the exams.' They don't know that Bill's friend who passed the exams and graduated from university with Bill Gates is now an employee working under Bill.
'There's that guy called Elon Musk, right? They want to establish settlements on Mars. Oh mom, there are so many people in this world who don't have anything to eat or drink and don't have a place to stay. They are not going to help those people, they are going to establish settlements on Mars. Is it not enough to help poor people before establishing settlements on Mars?' They do not know that in the future the population of the earth will increase ten times than it is now. If it increased like that, the earth would not become ten times. In order to find a solution to the increasing population, it is necessary to settle the settlements on Mars.
'Look at that Mukesh Ambani
