two faces, a normal face on the front and a smaller one on the back of his head, was called the "demon twin".
The story of Edward Modrake is probably the oldest story of the Victorian era in England.
According to the story, Mordrake was a rich and beautiful man who had two faces - one behind and one in front. The back face is believed to be able to say things that give him the power to do terrible things.
Unfortunately, in his twenty-third year of life, the back of his head wouldn't let him sleep. Terrible voices were heard from those faces. This prompted him to die of poisoning.
The story of Edward Mordrake is also mentioned in some American horror stories.
Other ancient writings state that Mordrake was a principled man born in the 1800s, and this head has a normal face in front and a smaller one in the back. As 19th century English stories say, the back face could do nothing. That little face said horrible things to him in the middle of the night.
Mordrake tried to find doctors to remove it, but that meant he would die if the procedure didn't work. It is a really dangerous procedure.
The small face drove him crazy and he died at the age of 23 after taking poison.
In 1896 some light was shed on the story of Edward Modrake under the title “Odds and Curiosities” by George Gould.
In fact, he led a reclusive life. He didn't want anyone to see him, let alone his family members. Nevertheless, he was a renowned scholar and musician. Behind his head his small face resembled a beautiful girl, albeit with a demonic appearance. It showed signs of intelligence and sometimes laughed when Mordrake cried.
In 1977, another book containing Mandrake's story was called "The Book of Lists". In this book, the author talks about a list of people who have extra limbs or appendages.
But that's not all, Tom Waits, on his 2002 album, presented a dark song about Edward Modrake. The song is titled “Poor Edward” and he also recorded a video for the song.
His condition did not have a scientific name, the latest researchers said his condition was diprosopus, which means a disease that causes the duplication of body parts, especially the face.
Although this may seem like a rare condition, it does happen to people and pets, and two babies in Australia were born with the same condition as Mordrake.
Unfortunately, both babies died shortly after. Considering that diprosopus is a dangerous condition, it's shocking that Edward Mordrake lived with the disorder for 23 years.
Many strange things have happened since then, but the truth is that Mordrake is a real man, and whether the horrible voices he heard caused him to kill himself is an undisclosed story.
Although Edward Modrake's story has been published in various publications, it remains under curiosity as an unreliable one.
Why?
First of all, the entire story is based on what the original author claims to be "local sources," which sets it apart from other stories such as Joseph Merrick, who became famous as the "Elephant Man."
Another implausibility of the story is that Mordrake was unable to sleep because of the horrible voices that could be heard through his little face at the back of his head – it is said that Mordrake used to call his little face “
Additionally, although the original author of the story cites two attending physicians, Mordrake, Manvers, and Treadwell, a 1906 critique of the "Theosophical Review" indicates that the two physicians' names do not appear anywhere in the Dictionary of National Biography.
Also, Edward Modrake's black-and-white frontal view of the "demon twin" that appeared on the Internet in 2007 remains a mystery.
There is a medical condition called Craniopagus Parasites that looks similar to Mordrake's story. However, it is a rare condition in conjoined babies that results in underdevelopment of one baby and the formation of a vestibular head attached to the umbilical cord of the twin.
A case of this type was also reported in 2016 where only three babies were born but two died soon after birth.
Another story in a similar situation relates that the "two-headed boy of Bengal" survived for four years but was later bitten by a cobra and died.
Generally, conjoined twins are genetically identical, which means they are of the same sex; However, in the case of Mordrake, one face is that of a man and the other head is for a woman with a small back and looks like a demon.
The little “demon twin” could only grimace while Mordrake was screeching, which was a completely different story when it came to the craniopagus parasite. In addition, the small face is said to have shown signs of a wise man secretly saying terrible things.
Some studies suggest that Mordrake may suffer from a condition called diprosopus. This is a congenital defect in which the face is large or small behind or behind the head
