A Japanese sculptor named Ando Nehru built a statue of Hachiko at the same station, and when it was put on public display in April 1934, Hachiko attended the public exhibition and went to find his master as usual in the evening. He died on March 8, 1935 in a waiting position.
During the Second World War, this statue of Hachiko was removed and used to make bronze military equipment. After the heat of the war subsided, Hachiko was revived with the warmth of memory. This railway station has become a haven for foreign tourists. Not only a Japanese film but also an American film has been made for Hachiko.
