This incident happened in 2010 in an apartment in New York City, USA. A sudden fire had broken out in one part of the apartment complex. The fire was not so severe but had spread throughout the fifth floor. 18-year-old Vanessa Scott and her seven-month-old cousin Zaniwah Alexandra, who were living in the apartment at the time, were trapped in the fire without being able to escape.
Vanessa noticed that her sister was having difficulty breathing due to the heavy smoke. She held her sister out of the window of the house and held her with one hand.
