The incident took place at an inn adjacent to Kombaru Sanctuary in Karnataka.
A leopard was chasing a dog. The dog entered the toilet through a window. The toilet was closed from outside. The leopard entered behind the dog and both were trapped in the toilet. Seeing the leopard, the dog got excited and sat quietly in one corner. He didn't even dare to bark.
The leopard was hungry and chased the dog, but he did not bite the dog. With one leap the dog could have been torn apart and eaten for dinner.
But the two animals were together in different corners for almost twelve hours. The leopard was also silent during these twelve hours. Anesthetized and euthanized by the forest department.
Now the question is, why didn't the starving tiger kill the dog when it could have easily??
Here's how wildlife researchers answered the question:
According to them, wild animals are very sensitive to their freedom. As soon as they realize that their freedom has been lost, they can feel so sad that they forget their hunger. Their natural motivation to feed the stomach begins to fade.
Freedom and happiness are connected. That is the freedom to think, act and live as we want.
