At 20 weeks pregnant I was diagnosed with invasive cancer that cut off my airway. I will never forget when the first doctor, the oncologist, mentioned abortion. We were infertile for years before we got pregnant. I knew I would be born dead. Then I saw another doctor who listed all the problems the baby would have if I didn't terminate. I refused from my same position. He said, "That's right. The baby is likely to miscarry anyway."
I researched and found good doctors who helped me, and I gave birth to a healthy baby at 34 weeks.
I am celebrating 10 years cancer free this May. I have a healthy, beautiful, bright, precious 10-year-old daughter who is a living reminder that doctors don't know everything. ” -
